this is a 3 team trade

boston gives the clevland pick to phoenix

why Boston
we get a great starter who we can cash for picks or keep him. we get rid of bass and hopefully give olynyk and sully more playing time.

why phoenix
they get a strong veteran in the front court that they really want to make a playoff run.
They also have the rumor that they want thomas gone. Now they don't have the confusion at pg.

Why golden state
Well they have been struggling with deciding what to do with david lee. his contract is to big for them and he is pretty replacable. they get brandon bass and gerald green to help fill out their bench giving them great depth. i really think this trade just puts golden state over the top and gives them the title.

Why do Phoenix want David Lee? They already have Markieff Morris who brings about 85-90% of what David Lee brings to the table and does so for a much cheaper price. Lee does not suit running game Phoenix want to play either unless they use him at center. Lee seems more like a complication for Phoenix than a solution.

I do not see the benefit for GSW. Golden State already have a well stocked wing rotation with Klay Thompson, Harrison Barnes and Andre Iguodala. No need for Gerald Green. And David Lee is much better than Brandon Bass. Downgrade.

Good trade for Boston.
