I already thought they were gonna win, but that was back with Jameer Nelson as their starting PG, aka probably one of the worst players in the league to have received minutes so far this season.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I am very excited to see the Mavs play.

This reminds me so much of when they went out and got Jason Kidd. Both thoroughbreds. Winning basketball players. Leaders. Kidd's toughness and determination were vital for that Mavericks. Just like Rondo's will be when they need it come playoff time.

Only Rondo is 28 years old vs Kidd at 34. Beautiful move for Dallas.

Best offense in the league just got worse. Don't count on it.

Are you freaking kidding me!?  That is truly absurd.

This makes them capable of competing with the Spurs/Thunder/Clippers/GSW but it's not a sure thing by any stretch.

yeah the west is rugged, and incorporating a player into the starting lineup mid stream is kind of challenging.  If Monta can adjust his game a bit it seems like they should be able to make a run.  It will be fun to see how that turns out.

The crazy thing is that the Mavs are the six-seed right now and it's not beyond the realm of possibility that they could be much improved but still stay at six and have to play somebody like the Clippers or Spurs in the first round. Then they'd just end up exactly where they were last year.

The west is a grindhouse.

Considering they were [the only ones] in a Game 7 vs. the NBA championships (and had blown them out earlier in the series), if they ended up exactly where they were last year, it wouldn't exactly take a whole lot more to win (and that was without Chandler/Parsons/Rondo).
