We're tanking for sure. But I wouldn't get my hopes up that it will turn around anytime soon.

This is all about moving on from the big 3 era, and handing this team to CBS.

I love the fact that the TANK is in full effect.

Okafor, Towns, Mudiay, Johnson, Winslow, Oubre or bust.

Embrace the Tank. Nice going Danny.

I fixed it for you.

The tank is Underway.  But it won't be complete until we trade away Bass and Green.  Those guys might manage to steal some wins for us this year, and we can't have that!   :P

We're doing a horrible job tanking with this deal.

We didn't get young talent nor good draft picks for our star player. Even in tanking we suck.

I think it's a good move to tank

And I think this is the year to tank big

Last year's draft class was good, but maybe slightly overhyped. We'll see

No matter what happens, I'm glad Ainge is at the helm 8)
I trust Danny Ainge

No ......if that were DAs plan he was right there last year ....and screwed up.

I think The coach was not liking Rondo......and this was the vote Danny needed to get the owners ok .

We need a new GM

With the picks DA ...he should have been adding better players ...not dumping the only star ...he'll ever see in a Celtic uniform long as he is GM anyway

OH YES! TP and more in an hour.

This and this and so much this. We already have a plethora of assets. Its time to add quality players using those, not adding more assets.

I'm not convinced this trade makes us any worse and I'm a Rondo fan.

That's the worst part. We didn't get any better or worse.

I only hope this means more minutes for the young guys.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

You can never have too many assets. I have not seen anyone that does not think that they could not catch lightning in a bottle twice. Ainge is looking for the next BIG THREE deal. He has figured that there is no one out there to fleece anymore so he knows he has to acquire a lot of assets to swing a BIG THREE deal.

Will it work for him? That remains to be seen, but he sure as hell is doing all he can to get it done. There will be THREE superstars in Boston before this is all said and done. I just hope that by the time he gets this done, the THREE have more than a three year window to win.

Who are quality players available for the assets we have?

Except we didnt get any assets. Late first? Wright who's a bench player?

The only thing we got is a big TPE. Which is good in all, if we will use it.

Gee, i don't know. Greg Monroe? Roy Hibbert? Taj Gibson? Larry Sanders? Gordon Hayward? David Lee, among others.

Heck, you add Sanders or Hibbert to our lineup and we could be contending in the East for a Playoffs spot, with Rondo. And we'd still have enough assets to bring in one more quality player after that to bring us closer.

Monroe and Lee would be realistic.  The others availability is questionable.  None of them are stars.

Unless a star players wants out or is expiring, there is no chance to trade for them unless its star for star.

Rondo
Bradley
Green
Sully
Monroe

Rondo
Bradley
Green
Sully
Hibbert

Rondo bradley green lee sully rondo blah blah sanders rondo who ever

WAS NOT WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP THIS YEAR , NEXT YEAR OR THE NEXT
AFTER THAT.

What don't you all see? Rondo needs two other scorers around him for this work. We'd need a Center as well and then still we don't beat Bulls or Wizards or Cavs and struggle against the Raptors.

I mean cmon. Instead of letting Rondo walk or get handcuffed to rondo with a mediocre team for the next 3 years would have been terrible. We are 1, 1a with Philly with the best assets in the league.

We get rid of Gerald Wallace contract, we then have cap space to sign TWO MAX players, with what is it 8-9 1st rounders with a Tenanacious defensive minded point, Two grade A role players in Sully and Kelly. Avery is a top defender. I would say we're a year out from making the playoffs with much potential. We go and draft a stud this year. Make a splash in free agency and trade for another stud. Danny knows what he's doing.

Your on a roll, man and going well but I am not sure this can be said in truth as much as it used to be so.  There seems to be a inverse effect on his focus on D when he focuses on scoring.  He does not seem able to do them both at the same time.

When do we really know what we are committed to here? Are we committed to the Tank? Ainge really needs to take a stand.

Tanking is not easy either. It takes a lot of skill to tank without losing your integrity.

We must decide very soon where we stand we do not want to toil in relative obscurity for the foreseeable future. The way I see it we do not have enough assets to make a splash right now, so tanking is the only real viable option.
