There are some dark years ahead of us. Boston is probably not going to contend for the next 20 years to come. And I doubt that any free agent would like to come to Boston now that Rondo isn't here

I'll be a Celtics Fan forever, but Danny Ainge could've done better than this.

Not happy with him right now. That will probably change over time, but I just believed he panicked instead of just standing pat.

He was taken to the cleaners this time.

At least it wasn't the Lakers, though...I actually had DAL as my darkhorse team coming out of the West...this definitely helps them.

Maybe, once DAL gels they can get out of the west, get another Banner and this will definitely help Rondo's Legacy.

You're missing the secondary implication of the deal - our draft pick this year is going to be a lot better now.  Honestly I think that was the #1 reason Ainge rushed into this.

Even if this is the reasoning this is also stupid. The NBA right now is a suck fest at the bottom. The knicks are pressuring Carmelo to shut it down. The 76ers are historically bad. The hornets are shopping stephenson after imploding from a year ago. The Lakers have won less than us with a healthy kobe and playing him 30 some minutes a night. There is no guarantee we can even get a top 5 pick if we completely poop out the bed.

I wish Rondo well, but I've never liked the Mavs, so, I'm conflicted.

I'll still always be a Celtics fan, have been for 30+ years.  But right now, there is nothing about this team worth investing my time in watching.

I know it wasn't a popular opinion, but I think with Rondo here we make the playoffs as a 7-8 seed.  We'd done pretty well considering a brutal early schedule. 

Given the respective depths in the East and West, just the difference between 8th and 9th might well mean jumping from 15th to ~10th.
