Pros....he's a free agent. Could leave with no compensation except taking his salary off the books.

Might get a decent pick or player or salary cap relief

Not a great shooter, certainly not from the line

The Boston media will benefit from not having a player around who gives short terse answers that illuminates that they just asked a stupid question....then again they fawn over Bill Belichik who does this at all times.

Cons....lose the best passing pg in the game

Lose the best rebounding pg in the game

Lose a good pg defender

Lose a player that attracts other free agents.

Lose a very intelligent player

Lose a player who signed a very fair contract last time out.

Marcus Smart is mostly just an injury prone "point guard" who can't shoot either

What am I forgetting? Personally I see him as a competitive leader but I could imagine people disagreeing with me

Ehhh, that's not a fair characterization of Smart. His ankle injury can literally happen to anyone who steps on someone else's foot.

It's totally fair. Rondo played a very long time with minimal injury. Smart didn't even stay on the floor in college

Cons.....we might get a bunch of totally worthless assets for one of the best players in the game.

Oh. Wait.
