I know Rondo trade talk is the hot topic right now, but is there really any way we get a top 5 picks this year? The worst teams in the league have alot of ground right now, is moving Rondo and Jeff worth a 6-8th pick season?

Wouldn't it be alot more fun to buy some nice pieces and give this conference a scare? Greg Monroe anybody?

If we still have the BK picks and guys like Monroe, Rondo, and Jeff playing high level ball, isn't that even more value headed into the offseason?

I just feel like the real value is in winning.

I agree with you completely.  Lets keep rondo and trade some of our youth for vets.  That would be great.

But if the deals arent there we don't have much choice.

Agreed!

Don't get Ainge's love for mediocrity and his obsession with tanking for high draft picks.

Agree 1000%

we're not getting much for Rondo is a trade. we are hanging with or beating every team we play and we are actively getting better.

Jeff is better. KO is better. Sully is better. Zeller is a good addition. Evan Turner playing better.

AND, Rondo looked like prime Rondo last night. He's playing better too. Time to keep him and Jeff and flip dudes like Thornton and Bass for whatever we can get. I want to rumble in the East this year.

I mentioned pulling trigger on Smith for Fav, Wallace and LAC 1st because it's lowest cost decent talent guy on the block. Would he be enough?  Based on that you can see the difficulty of buying now.

Isn't Monroe lacking in Low-Post D?

Include Smart in a package to go all-in for Melo.  Dump Bradley.  Free up cap space to retain Rondo and sign another big this summer.

tsk, tsk. this is not the right thread to advance possibly negative arguments. this is clearly a "positive only" supportive thread.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

We're one games out of the playoffs because the east is bad not because we are good.  How guys can't see that is beyond me.  Real in the east the NBA IS CRAPTASTIC.

No he's fine there. He's lacking in team/help defense. Gets lost in rotations and also is slow-footed on the pick and roll.

Safe to say there's no Rondo deal out there that helps this team?

My buy moves.

Green, Bass, Vitor, multiple picks for Melo.
Thornton, Bradley, multiple picks for Bosh.

Lol

He waited patiently for Rondo to show he still had it. He went after Love this summer. Hard to see how he gave in easily just because things didn't work out.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.
