Boston out: Rondo, Sullinger
Boston in: Hardaway Jr, Bargnani (expiring), 2015 1st Round Pick

I think Tim Hardaway Jr has a lot of potential as a scorer and with that additional pick we could be in position to get (or trade up) a Top 5 pick next draft.
(My favourites are Karl Towns and Justise Winslow)

In my oppinion that trade would bring forward our rebuild.

First change the title of the thread to IDEA: rondo to knicks

Second, I don't think the nicks would go for this but who knows.  Getting their first rounder would be appetizing.  Though with Rondo, I think that team becomes much better.  Also I can't see Danny trading rondo to a team in the division
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Give up the best player and the better prospect for a guy struggling to get minutes on a terrible team?

The first rounder does sound nice but the Knicks can not trade it.

I agree but the only team in the west that has assets I would want are the Kings, but who knows? just an idea.

Really? Why? Because they traded all of their prior picks, right?
Well that would mess up my plans..

Two teams I never want to see Rondo wearing their jersey: Lakers and Knicks
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

They traded away the pick for 2016 (as well as 2014)

Quote
2016 first round draft pick to Denver
Denver has the right to swap its 2016 1st round pick for New York's 2016 1st round pick [Denver-Minnesota-New York, 2/22/2011]; New York will convey the less favorable of these two picks to Toronto (see New York Debits)

2016 first round draft pick to Toronto
New York will convey the less favorable of its 2016 1st round pick and Denver's 2016 1st round pick to Toronto (via Denver's right to swap for New York) [Denver-Minnesota-New York, 2/22/2011 then New York-Toronto, 7/10/2013]

They could, but we'd have to send them our LAC pick in return.

That could work, but than we should give them Bass instead of Sullinger.

Which makes the trade look worse.

If you replace Sullinger with Wallace and Bargnani with Amare, at least it would be more productive.

Some thoughts on this:
No Rondo trades should include any of our young guys, if we move Rondo we are in full rebuild mode, so sending out Sullinger doesn't make sense.

I still don't think the Knicks are a playoff team even with Rondo. So I would be happy to get the rights to swap the Clippers pick with our pick.

The best asset that we could probably get is the right to swap firsts with a potential lottery team like Houston (the have NOLA's likely lottery pick), New York, or Sacramento. If we can go into the offseason with two lottery picks it will be a big help to the rebuild.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

totally agree on this.  hate the idea of trading Rondo but if we do, it only makes sense if we're keeping our good young players.

I disagree on this.  add Rondo to that team in this weak Eastern conference and you'll see that team climb into the playoff picture.  No desire to give up Rondo and a 1st to get back crappy players and move up only 5-6 spots (I expect Clips pick to end up around 22-23 at best and Knicks to get around 16-17 if they add Rondo with this much of the season left to play)

Adding Rondo to NY puts them in the playoffs as I mentioned above.  Adding Rondo to Sac would put them late lottery --> they really need Cousins on the court to do any serious climbing in the standings but in the West it'll be a tough climb.  Getting the NO pick from Houston could very well be lottery but late lottery.

I just don't feel a late lottery pick is enough.  Even with lowered expectations, I'd want a mid-lottery pick or at least a very good prospect to go with a late lottery pick.  There's a reason good teams want Rondo -- because he's really good despite what the vocal handful of posters here say about him.
