This deal is so inexplicable that it almost seems like Danny is doing it to improve our pick this year more than to get anything that's coming back.

We are looking suspiciously close to mediocre so far, and that might've been good enough to make the playoffs in the East.
We have the 6th best SRS in the east by a solid margin, so yeah we were likely going to make the playoffs as a bad team.

ESPN sources say teams closing in on swap to send Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder, Jameer Nelson, one future first & one future second to Celts

It kind of feels like a pau gasol trade before we knew what Marc would be. Just trash.
I don't think Jae Crowder will turn into a Marc Gasol.

couldn't we improve our draft pick by trading green and bass instead? and keeping bird rights for a top 30 player?
I'm sure they'll be moved as well now.

Maybe this is all just a collaborative effort to get Woj out of NBA reporting. I hear GMs don't particularly like him, and this would ruin his credibility if it goes through.

Why is Charlotte not being involved as a third party?! Hopefully they at least asked!

I think Ainge has earned enough of our trust that we can believe reports that say this is the best he received for Rondo.

Rondo's value is not close to what Pau's was as a Grizzly.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

He doesn't have 60 pounds to lose certainly.

Maybe he'll suddenly develop Steph Curry's jumpshot?

  • Let's Go Celtics!
I'm not gonna lie... I can't wait to watch that Dallas team. I've resigned myself to the fact that this is happening and the Celtics will suck for a long time.

Yes, it does sound like a brilliant beyond brilliant plan, doesn't it (sarcasm), seeing as how being in the lottery has always worked out so well for us.  Ainge sucks.

Boston's informed teams it's focused on completing deal with Dallas soon, closing on a package to send Rajon Rondo to Mavs, sources tell Y.

Well, that escalated quickly...

It would explain the bizarre rush that seemed to happen the past few days.

Bass next?  Dont think green is next. Danny will want to get overpaid for Green and can wait. He has really come through this season
