  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I'm surprised that you drew the conclusion that Enchilada believes Rondo is "likely to be traded."

It seemed to me that he reached the opposite conclusion.

lol, confirmation bias on your behalf perhaps?
He actually posted the link to his own article in the RealGM forums and that was the title of the topic. That's also why I put that part of the title with the apostrophes to indicate ownership by Elrod :)

Here's the link if you need some proof.....
http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1361283

The title of his article is "Danny Goes to Market: Is Rondo in Tow?" He posted a link to that article in a thread on a fan site, just like this one, titled "why Rondo is likely to be traded."

I can't possibly believe that you actually think that because he posted his article in a thread of that title that it confirms that he believes Rondo will be traded.  You don't think that, do you?

Based on reading the actual article, the conclusion he seems to draw is that there likely aren't any good trade partners out there that will offer enough for Ainge to make a Rondo trade.

It's his description of his own article.
I don't know what's so hard to understand about that?

And no, after reading the article, I think he's found plenty more reasons for the Celtics to trade Rondo over keeping him. I guess he just posted the title of his own thread, on his own article, to be misleading?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Great article!

elrod's an interesting character. his real name is robert mcchesney. he's a professor at university of illinois at urbana-champaign.

Quote
His work concentrates on the history and political economy of communication, emphasizing the role media play in democratic and capitalist societies. McChesney has a particular interest in the state of journalism, and the relationship of media systems and structures to effective self-governance. He is the co-founder of Free Press, a national media reform organization. From 2002-2012 McChesney hosted the 'Media Matters' weekly radio program every Sunday afternoon on WILL-AM radio.

McChesney frequently writes with John Nichols and John Bellamy Foster. He is among the most widely read and honored communication scholars in the world today. His work has been professionally translated into 31 languages. In 2001 Adbusters Magazine named him one of the 'Nine Pioneers of Mental Environmentalism.' Utne Reader in 2008 listed him as one of their "50 visionaries who are changing the world". In 2006, conservative advocate David Horowitz included McChesney in his book The Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America...

...A lifelong sports fan, McChesney writes about professional basketball for the RealGM website under the name Elrod Enchilada.

 :o That's a bold statement, lol.

I had to google him more and look that up, and it does turn out he's a total Marxist/socialist/etc. Editor of a Marxist journal. Participant in a "Socialist Scholars" conference. If this were the 50's or 60's, he'd probably be on a Security Index or something, I guess. Since it's the 10's, he seems to take gleeful pride in being considered such a threat by a right winger, and feels no fear.

I'd love to know how he became a Celtics fan. I would figure a Marxist/socialist/whatever would root for an underdog franchise instead of the most dominant team in NBA history. The Celtics = parquet hegemony, basketball's ruling class, NBA empire. :) If he likes the revolting proletariat so much, perhaps he should have rooted for the Knicks or the Nets. ;)

It totally makes sense that someone whose sympathies lie with the working class would root for Boston in the Celtics-Lakers rivalry.
