Boston trade Green and Pressy

Recieves Prince (1 year) and Kosta

Or a bigger trade

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lgxpvx9

Where Prince goes to Toronto

Hayes (1 year) goes to Boston with a draft pick

Steimsma going to Memphis.

Trade one certainly helps Memphis out in a huge way. Not sure why we would want to just purely salary dump Green without a prospect or pick compensation. Green has a player option next year, he picks it up we have him for another year on a cheap deal, if he doesn't we can try and restructure it or let him walk which would basically be the same as trading for Prince and Kosta as they're both free agents.

I'm intruiged. Do you think Koufos could be our starting center going forward? Or would he be just a stop gap? In general I would prefer future assets to an expiring contract for Green, but if Kosta could take over at the 5 then we would probably re-sign him.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I do think he could be the starting C going forward which would free up the Celtics to just go after the player they feel is most likely to be a star instead of trying to also fill a position of need.  (this of course means they believe Turner and Young can cover the SF position at a starting level)

I don't think Koufos is anything more than a stop-gap option as starting center. Backup center is correct role for Koufos.

Koufos is too limited as an overall player to be a permanent starter. His offensive game is limited to shots around the basket. Garbage man. Non-passer. His defense and rebounding are solid but nothing spectacular.

Lack of high level physical gifts (in any and all areas) limits utility as defender + rebounding. Lacks physical strength to be top post defender like Perk was. Lacks top quickness and mobility to cover quicker face up bigs or to provide top team defense  (PnR, transition, speed of defensive rotations). Lack of great length or leaping ability as shot-blocker. Average physical size for center (unlike slow centers like M.Gasol, R.Hibbert). A lot of mediocre physical tools that make it difficult for Koufos to physically matchup against the top players & athletes that start at the center position. Without the offensive skill-set to make up for that, Koufos is best used as a bench player. Steady enough player to interim starting center until someone better comes along but bench player is right role for him.

I don't think he is worth giving up Jeff Green for.

I am warming up to the idea of trading Jeff Green by trade deadline for whatever future assets Boston can get for him. With the type of money Green and Rondo are likely to command next summer, not real happy with the thought of those two eating up nearly 50% of Celtics salary cap.

I am willing to trade Green.

I am not willing to trade Green for that crap.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Koufos is a backup C at best.  he doesn't do it for me if I'm trading Green.   considering how much better Memphis would be with him at SF, their first round picks will be near the end so would not offer much in terms of compensating for such a huge talent difference.

not liking any of these deals.  I don't see anyone on Memphis' roster that I'd want for Green that they'd actually consider trading.
