I don't even like Lance, but I'd pull the trigger on this one.  Even if you turn around and flip Lance for peanuts, it's a sweet deal if there's an unprotected pick.

Then we just get Green to opt out and re-sign with us anyways.  :)

If you're planning on completely blowing up the team (trading Rondo, Bass, Thornton and Green) AND the pick is no more than top 3 protected, go for it.  Otherwise, pass.

Jeff would be great for CHA. He is exactly what they are missing and if need be he can also play some 4...I'm sure that is very attractive to CHA

Truth is no one knows what direction this tea is going. My gut says rebuild till we get Wallace off our books then we can go out and get legit free agents to go along with our young and hopefully blossoming talent.

The thing is lets say they give us that pick...with Green on CHA they could go for a run in the East and make the playoffs. The season is early and even CHA can make a run especially with Big AL.

For the last 3 years nearly everyone on this board has been displeased with Jeff Green's play. "He can never be a go to scorer!" "He can't be the one guy!" Now he's doing everything you all have asked and it's all trade Jeff Green! I don't get it.
This is the best he's played for any sustained period in a Celtics uniform.  Charlotte allegedly wanting unload Stephenson so quickly is a giant red flag, especially considering this guy's reputation.

What is up with the fawning over Stevenson? He hasn't really done anything except play above his head in a playoff stint back last year.

Jeff Green's last playoff stint blows Lance's playoff production out of the water. Green was able to accomplish that production with an aging KG, a cold shooting Paul Pierce and no Rajon Rondo.

Last year, was the first time in Jeff's career that he was asked to be the #1 option. He was asked of this after a slew of roster personnel changes and a head coaching change.

Players usually don't play super awesome when his role changes so drastically. And when the team's roster and coaching staff is "turned upside down", that doesn't bode well for any sense of consistent chemistry growth.

I chalk it up to being the first name being thrown out there this trade season...That is why there is suddenly so much interest. Everyone is just chomping at the bit.

Not the guy the young team needs.  He would have been a great add when the Celtics had KG and Pierce.  Vet leadership that has done it all.

But the current Celtics is not that.  They have a 2nd year coach and a bunch of young growing players.

Of course if their is a 1st coming back to the Celtics, make the trade and sell him cheap to another team.

Yep.  Sigh.

For start, that leaves us with no SF. 6'5 Lance and 6'6 ET are no SF.

Then, we will have zillion SGs - AB, MT, ET, Lance, Young and some Smart minutes.

Third, we have a very similar, much cheaper and arguably more talented Smart doing the same things Lance does minus the headcase cancer thing.

4th, Lance struggles sharing the ball with Kemba Walker. Imagine sharing with Rondo.

5th, I do not want a headcase loony in the same locker room with Smart, Young, Kelly and Sully

Yeah, I agree.  While I love Stephenson as a player, there's no point in getting him now, especially when we already have Smart.  Lance should have been a Celtic instead of Bradley, though.  Even if you don't like the guy, you have to admit that at least he can actually stay on the court, lol ;D.

If we are trading Green to Charlotte, though, can we please get PJ Hairston and Bismack Biyombo, instead?

Holy crap, this actually works, haha ;D.  You're welcome, lol ;) ;D.

Indiana - Stephenson

Charlotte - Green, Copeland, Scola, and Stuckey

Boston - Hairston and Biyombo.

If the hornets are willing to give up a 1st just to get rid of lance... And the pistons want just a 1st for Monroe...  We obviously need to trade bass for lance and a 1st and them trade the 1st for Monroe.  Whammo.  Piece of cake.

Lol

I'm not huge on Monroe or Stephenson being big difference makers on this team, however, if you can get Lance and Greg for Brandon Bass, well, that's sounds down right Auerbachian.
