we have collect a lot of assests.  Now the celtics need the to make the first step.  the first step is to get the first big building block. rondo is 28 not exactly a young player to build around. So here is a list of players who we could build around then I will make a poll and see what you guys decide.

giannis antetokunmpo sg 20 years old
stats
2014-15 Season
PPG   APG   RPG   PER
12.5   2.0   5.8   16.59
27 minuates per game
Antetokounmpo seems entrenched as a starter in Milwaukee and has been fantastic of late, averaging 17.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.5 blocks in his last four games.
he would be a hefty price but is looking  like he could be an amazing all-star. he is 6-11 sg who can do it all.

gorgui deing c 24 years old
014-15 Season
PPG   RPG   BLKPG   PER
8.6   8.0   1.3   18.52
26 minuets
big defensive center less expensive the antetokounmpo but older and probably not quite as good but still very good.

Jonas Valanciunas 22years old c

2014-15 Season
PPG   RPG   BLKPG   PER
11.9   9.0   1.2   19.70
on 26 minuates per game
Scouting report
+ Good moves in the post; effective finisher.
+ Good defensive rebounder, but not a rim protector.
+ Not assertive enough; efficient player with low usage.
however not an amazing defender but decent enough

Rudy Gobert 22 years old
2014-15 Season
PPG   RPG   BLKPG   PER
5.6   5.5   1.7   21.17
in 17 minuates a game

+ Seven-footer with tantalizing, record, 7-foot-8.5 wingspan.
+ Moves well for his size and capable of defending on the perimeter.
+ Must add strength to deal with contact in the paint.

kyle o'quin 24 years old
2014-15 Season
PPG   RPG   BLKPG   PER
9.2   4.7   1.2   22.27
in 18 minutes
Scouting report
+ Strong big man who has a nice little midrange jumper.
+ Bullies opponents for rebounds, but has soft touch on passes.
+ Excellent shot-blocker who has tamed his foul-happy ways.
he is a free agent next year and i think we really need to sign him.

I personally want to pay the hefty price for antetopunpo. I would give up the two brookline picks and avery bradley for antetopunpo. I would trade rondo, jeff green, olynyk and bass. I think that would replenish the lost assets from the antetopunpo trade.  then I would tank for towns. I would then sign kyle o'quin in free agency.

we would have the best backcourt defensive duo in smart and antetokounmpo
then we would have then the three headed monster of towns, sully and o'quin.

what do you guys think? who would you go for?
zach lavine-jeremy lin-tyus jones
jeremy lamb-tyshen prince-Andre miller
will barton- beljina-
Kevin love-kevin garnet-payne
Karl anthoney Towns-JJ hickson

Only Jonas can be considered a franchise player. Giannis is getting so much hype, but he's still too young.

Also if you would give two Nets pick and Bradley for Giannis, you're smoking something really good.

Giannis is the only player on that list who "might" be franchise-worthy, and he is not for sale at any price.

I really don't think Giannis is a franchise player, but I agree he is untouchable at the moment.

He's not a franchise player yet but he has a chance. Superstars matter so much more than everything else in the NBA that if you're a rebuilding team and you have a potential superstar you don't let them go for anything.

I have not seen superstar potential from Giannis.

Greg Monroe could be that young franchise player.

Like Dieng, he is only 24 years old, but Monroe is far superior to Dieng.

He is now relegated to coming off the bench. In his last 5 games in about 24 mpg, he has averaged 17 points, almost 9 rebounds and 80% free throw shooting.

He has never had a player like Rondo feeding him. He could blow up here .

We 'll have to draft one we do not have one of the team.

Most likely. Why would any other team give up a young franchise player? Especially since the C's can only offer mid-level players (other than Rondo) and picks.

Sure do,

And drafting one seems to be the only hope for most none big market teams.

For what it's worth, I think Marcus Smart can be one.

I really don't think Giannis is a franchise player, but I agree he is untouchable at the moment.

Which is exactly why the Bucks should trade him - imagine the haul they could get if they sold him now.

It's like a couple of years ago when Pistons fans laughed off the idea of trading Monroe for Rondo - now we don't even want to give them the Clippers pick (I realize Bird rights have a lot to do with this, but the situation is still a pretty dire one for the Pistons in regards to Monroe's future).
