I think this is too young a team for a knucklehead. Gotta have a plan to be very Belicheckian if he messes up.

I know our team is young but the young guys don't seem to be the type to fall in line with what McGee would do. I also think CBS could at least keep him in line enough with a little bit of head games (although it might be real from Stevens). He seems to know how to talk these guys.

If we can get him for cheap and he's healthy, I would do it. We can always send him on his way if it doesn't work, he's no make or break player.
I have faith in Smart, Rondo, and maybe Avery, but I think Sully and James Young....I'm just not sure there.

I'm not worried about either of them but let's say I was, that's only 2 players. Even if he does become a problem we could ship him out. I don't think it's a big deal.

What does McGee do that's so bad anyway? I missed it. I mean, he may be immature but he's young enough that we can wait (or move on) if need be.

off the court, he doesnt do anything stupid. He just makes really stupid decisions on the court. He still thinks that he has the talent to be more than a role player. That being said, it's really Denver's own fault for giving him the ball.

Even at the end of the game, we lined up in different formation that he hadn't seen and he called out our play before I got the ball. I heard him calling it out. -John Wall on Brad Stevens

I wouldn't mind seeing what Rondo could do with him offensively. He still has a lot to learn with defensive rotations and such. I would pair Wallace and the Clips first for him and hope for the best.

Brad Stevens was able to get everything he could out of another former Washington Wizard perceived of possessing a lower basketball IQ in Jordan Crawford.

If Stevens would be willing to take on the challenge, then I'd welcome McGee in to see what, if anything, CBS could get out of him.

This is the key for him. If only he'll accept that his only going to be a defensive player, a rebounder and accept the fact that no plays will be ran for him, ala DeAndre Jordan and Doc Rivers, he's going to be good.

You cant deny his physical tools and athleticism, on the defensive end of the court he's going to be very helpful. But will he be fine being just a "defensive and rebounding" specialist? Because that's the only way he'll be successful. If he's getting the ball in the offense, disaster will surely happen.

I would think if Denver were looking to move McGee, they'd want a salary dump. Bass/Faverani + maybe a future late 1st would make more sense.
Listen to Nerf DPOY. Denver does not want one of our bad contracts. McGee has  possible upside in the right situation. The minimum Denver would consider are expiring contracts and a draft choice or two.

I don't think any team in the league would give up a 2nd rounder for him at this point.

I love a trade for McGee if we're tanking.  He's terrible!  Denver has decreased his playing time each year since trading for him.  This year he lost a training camp "battle" to Timofey Mozgov and a one legged J.J. Hickson.

Some people will argue McGee has "failed to develop" in his seven seasons in the NBA, but I think that's putting it too kindly since he's actually gotten worse.

I'd give Denver a ham sandwich and a luke-warm cup of coffee for him.  Final Offer.

I wonder what it would take to get Timo instead?

I'm guessing they are super high on Jusuf Nurkic up there in Denver--and with good reason.  It seems to me that they've almost got to trade one of Mozgov or McGee to make more room for him to play.

I think it is more likely we trade for future assets than semi veteran players.
