I was looking over the attendance figures for the current season and was a little surprised to see that the Pistons were dead last in attendance with 13,800 per game (by comparison the Celtics draw 17,400 per game and the league leading Bulls average 22k.

I also on the daily show of all places recently that the Pistons are behind on the water bills for their stadium by a very significant amount, and obviously the problems with poverty in the city, and the city itself declaring bankruptcy are something much larger than basketball.  I was wondering if this city is able to support the team and what people think will happen there?

it's no wonder. the city is just coming out of a bankruptcy.  Been in a long state of decline since the riots of the late sixties. Still, it seems to have an incredibly strong and loyal fan base.  Hoping it can turn things around.

The population decline's pretty significant there, isn't it?

The Pistons don't actually play in the city of Detroit.

They play in Auburn Hills, MI.

Although, are they subject to any of the Detroit nonsense?  I've only been to downtown Detroit.
