Cauley-Stein doesn't even crack your top ten?  C'mon man.  That's preposterous.

edit:  My bad.  WCS refers to Cauley-Stein.

Yes, WCS stands for Cauley Stein - He has improved a lot, I bet he goes top 3.  Incredible for a 7 footer to move like that...

32 year old Jermaine O'neal?  lol.  You really don't think much of WCS, eh?  It's kind of an interesting comparison because young JO was an elite defender and an elite post player.  I'm not sure WCS has that sort of ceiling.  But 32 y/o Jermaine... maybe.  :)

Kentucky-Louisville on ESPN2 in 15 minutes or so. I think Louisville gives these guys a game.

Edit: Game actually just started.

Well that should be depressing for anyone banking on building through the draft

I haven't seen it anywhere but I think a good comp for Towns could be prime 'Sheed. Towns is similar in that he's big enough to bang inside and nimble enough to play outside. He can shoot, pass, and has a good BBIQ similar to Wallace, all while appearing to be very peripheral the whole game(like Wallace). That could be partially due to Towns being a freshman somewhat stifled by the boatload of talent surrounding him.

Player style & similarities not effectiveness.

Okafor = Taller Sully with some Duncan moves  (immediate impact in rookie season)

Mudiay = John Wall / Kyle Lowry hybrid  (immediate impact but will keep on improving)

Towns   = More athletic and motivated Andrew Bynum. (will take time to put it all together)

Johnson = Artest w/ some James Harden in him. - can handle, pass and isolate - (immediate impact but with an endless ceiling) Crazy work ethic on this guy.

Winslow = Kind of plays like Lebron James in game style, good but not especially great at anything.  Aggressive defender.  (will take time to put it all together as he figures himself out)

Kelly Oubre = Paul George with better shooting but worse ball handling and no where as good a defender.   (will take time to put it all together )

I'd be happy with any of these guys.

My top ten as of 12/29 with some comps

1. Okafor, a bigger Big Al with better overall court awaness

2. Town, I like NERF DPOYs comp to Sheed. That could be his ceiling. Has a great all around skill set.

3. Mudiay, only saw him in allstar games. Based on China stats looks like real deal

4. Porzinggis, obviously haven't seen him but my gut based on write ups and you tube is he special. Not many 19yr olds put up his stat line in the ACB. A shot blocking stretch 4. This makes him a rare commodity.

5. S Johnson, Artest's body but more of an offensive player less of a defender. I'm not sure his 3pt shooting carries over to NBA if it does he could be PP light

6. WCS, he is cut from the same mold as L Sanders and T Chandler. He may never average more then 10 pts a game but will help a team win with his D and mobility.

7. Winslow, I like him but would be sure he ever becomes an allstar. Seems to be well rounded but not great at anything. Add that to average wing size. Could see a Byron Russell like long career

8. Harrell, He reminds me of Milsap. He isn't as well rounded a defender but seems more athletic and with better defensive instincts. His body and energy will make him an instant contributor in the NBA.

9. Hezonja, scouts seem to love him. I know nothing about him

10A. Oubre, alot of hype that he may now being getting the playing time to live up to.

10B. Looney, Interesting player. He has great length and motor. As a PF he is too skinny and will struggle. If he can play the 3 (he has been quoted saying he can) he has some real potential. His outside shot will make a world of difference. As a PF my comp would be A Randolph as a SF he could be an upgrade T Prince.

Outside of this top ten I really like

Jakob Poeltl C Utah, he has been talked about in this thread Raw but great potential. Has size and athletism to be a starting NBA center.

Hollis-Jefferson SF Arizona, One of my favortite players in college Bball. He is a 6'7 Tony Allen. Elite athlete with great size for SF. Offense is a work in progress and he can be out of control but he will be a great defender. I dont see alot of differences between he and Kidd-Gilvrest.

Dekker SF wisc, not having the year I expected from him but has great size and well rounded SF skill set. He might be a kid who thrives outside of his strict college system.

D Johnson C UK, really big kid with a frame that looks like it could carry more weight. He will be a project but could develop into a player who demands a double team on the block.

Porzingis is a top 3 pick, LOL if you think he will last until the 7th pick.  He is a young KG, 7 foot, wiry, great hops, very aggressive, and sweet shooting touch with high release, impossible to block.

Tough to call to many kids a young KG. I will give it to you that he looks very intriguing. He will be the guy who makes this draft interesting. I have read that some scouts say with the exposure of the NCAA he would be the #1 pick. I don't think anyone takes that from Okafor but Porzingis will make 2-4 interesting /  successful for a few teams. If the Knicks and LAL are in that top 4 will they have the gall to pass on better known NCAA or American high school players for a Euro? These teams that are trying to pull a quick tank and rebuild cant afford to miss. While it may not be really fair because american college players miss in the NBA all the time the Euro kids definitely have a stigma from the likes or Darko, Bargs and now Vessely. I wouldnt be shocked to see some teams scared to go with the unknown in this draft causing teams who are confident in they over seas scouting to push to trade up for him.

He is a player that I would love to see the Cs either draft or make a move to trade up for. He has star potential and with the long term rebuild DA seems to be putting in place the Cs can afford the risk. The other nice thing is if he really if 7'-7'1 with good length and can be a rim protector he can be placed next to a big who lacks length like KO or Sully.
