Detroit: Rondo, Green
Boston: Drummond, Jennings, Jerebko, Anthony, Unprotected 2015 1st

It's an overpay, but Drummond will be worth it.

Who cares if it's unrealistic? I just want some [dang] freaking interior defense!  ;D

Would you overpay this much for Drummond?

Yes.   Is it enough?
I mean, Drummond probably best player in the deal..and we get Jennings & a first as well?    I'd pass if I were the Stan Van

At the cost of your two best offensive players?

He has potential to be the best player in the deal, but I think realistically AT THE MOMENT both Green and Rondo are better. I really don't think Jennings is much more than salary filler either.

This would be a "throw in the towel" and "building towards the future" move, so losing our two best offensive weapons now wouldn't be too bad. We'd build a team around defense with Smart, Bradley, and Drummond, and I think that's Stevens specialty.

My opinion is that isn't overpaying or even enough. Both Green and Rondo are in contract years. Detroit should consider Drummond a top 20 player who is under control.  Rondo is up there but a soon to be FA. Green is top 45 only.

If the Clippers give up Paul for Rondo, Green and a Clipper 1st, forget the rest of the teams and trade for Paul.  Paul is the best player in the whole mess.  He is the biggest draw in the whole mess.

Of course the Clippers say "no" really, really fast.

I would actually expect the unprotected pick to be from the Cs going to detroit, and even still not sure they say yes. Drummond is a 21yr old legit center with elite athletism who averaged a double double last season. You dont trade player like that unless they force you too.

I see a lot of people talking about complicated transactions, impossible trades. Let's get realistic. Detroit is not giving up on Drummond and we are not selling the farm for any player except someone like Durant. We should have Asik right now, but this ship has sailed. How about Gorgui Dieng or Rudy Gobert ?  They are realistic players that we could get and for a reasonable price. I think they would both be so good in green, we desperate need this type of player.

Agreed -- Boston not paying enough for Drummond & #1 pick.

Not an overpay. An underpay and that is why Detroit says "no".

With Drummond failing to show much improvement so far this season, I can see this stance changing quite quickly in near future.

Drummond needs to start living up to this high billing and show he is not just another DeAndre Jordan.

Man, a guy like Deandre Jordan is everything we need right now. A rim protector that can catch any lob pass that rondo throws. If drummond becomes another deandre jordan and detroit wants to give up on him, than we should try and get him.

Given the choice between Carmelo and Paul-- I'd go for Melo every time.  Not only is he the better individual player, but if we are trading Rondo it wouldn't make sense to bring back another pg.  Ideally you bring back a scoring wing &/or a big to pair with Smart.

And don't doubt GM Doc Rivers.  You can see during the games that he's fed up with Paul; the captain of an imploding Clipper team.  Who else is he gonna scapegoat, the coach?
