After the last several games, it is painfully clear that we absolutely need a defensive big in the middle to make any progress.  Here's a list of potentially available bigs to help us in the middle:
Hibbert
Sanders
Henson
Horford
Monroe
Kanter
Mcgee
Perkins
Gobert

Three things:

Which big would you want patrolling our paint for defensive reasons?

Which big would you want primarily for offensive prowess?

Which big is most realistic/easiest for us to trade for this season?

The outgoing package (how much it will cost in players/assets) is a factor as is the fit with our system and players. Go!

I think Kanter is the big that is easiest to get without the really bad contract.

Eh, too injury prone for me, and I think his blocks make him out to be a much better defender than he really is.

I highly doubt he's available for anything short of a king's ransom.

I'd support a trade for Sanders over the summer (the main attraction for Milwaukee being something like Wallace's expiring, KO and a Brooklyn 1st).

Outside of getting Okafor or Towns, my dream offseason would be finding a way to net both Stanley Johnson and Montrezl Harrell in the draft, trading for Sanders, re-signing Rondo and getting a backup PG.

We'd move forward with a rotation that looks something like this:

Rondo/Aaron Brooks
Smart/Bradley
S. Johnson/J. Young
Sully/M. Harrell
Sanders/Zeller

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

Gobert = has the talent to become starting caliber player down the road and won't cost you half your war chest (trade assets) to acquire.

After the last several games, it is painfully clear that we absolutely need a defensive big in the middle to make any progress.  Here's a list of potentially available bigs to help us in the middle:
Hibbert - Player option and may opt out
Sanders - Kidd is very big on Sanders, so unless we blow them away I don't see it happening.
Henson - No offense.
Horford - Maybe but not a great defensive anchor. He's a great defender, but nothing special.
Monroe - No defense.
Kanter - Jazz didn't even offer an extension... So no thanks.
McGee - Potential is there but.. I would rather try to go after other players than McGee unless we have other players in place.
Perkins - As a second big off the bench sure.
Gobert - Jazz isn't trading him at all. Their extremely high on him

Three things:

Which big would you want patrolling our paint for defensive reasons?

Which big would you want primarily for offensive prowess?

Which big is most realistic/easiest for us to trade for this season?

I would love Gasol or Sanders. I wouldn't mind going after Hibbert as long as HE never does eighteen feet fade away hook shots....

It's based on your perspective, quite simply

The question is whether or not he's actually available.

A Brooklyn first might be a bit much for him, but the Cleveland one or the Clips one might be okay.

And he's not showing an awful lot of development so far.  Physical freak who gets a ton of rebounds from it, but his positioning and knowledge of the game still lags well behind.

If you want to float the notion that Horford could be gotten, he'd be my first choice. He's the best all-around player of that group. His is the name that always comes up in the "next big 3" debates.

Good thing I am not GM, or else my offer is, anyone but Rondo and Smart :). I mean we are rebuilding right haha

Like in Wayne's World when Wayne states to his ex gf " *A* Gun?"  < emphasis on the A

A Defensive Big

Any one that can: clog the paint, alter/block shots, get a consistent 10+ rebounds, is a legitimate 7ft tall and can score when open from 5ft, wins.
