Any team with Kelly Olynyk on the team will not be the best defensive team in the league. I dont think they would win a championship this year but maybe 3 years down the road.
The odds of that team winning a title 3 years down the road is roughly the same as the odds our current team with no major additions will win a title 3 years down the road.
I respectfully disagree three years down the road in this very hypothetical scenario would allow Olynyk to be in his fourth year in the league and Smart and Gordon would have 3 years of development in the NBA. Those are clear odd changers. As for this current team compared to the hypothetical team they would not have a 28 year old Serge Ibaka to protect the rim and i think you are undervaluing that.
