 3 team trade

boston gives up sully, jeff green and clippers pick
boston gets serge ibika

okc gives up ibika and mitch mcgary
okc gets roy hibbert and sully

indiana gives up hibbert
indiana gets jeff green and clippers pick

why boston
we instantly become playoff contenders. get our rim protector at age 25 on a 3 year deal. we keep rondo and most of our picks starting line up looks like

rondo
bradley
turner
ibaka
olynyk

this allows young to get minutes at the sf position and lets smart be the 6th man
why okc
they get a starting line up of
westbrook
lamb
durant
sully
hibbert
thats 3 stars and a good pf

why indiana
they get jeff green to take over for the injured paul george
they also get a first rounder and get rid of hibbert who needs a fresh start somewhere else.
zach lavine-jeremy lin-tyus jones
jeremy lamb-tyshen prince-Andre miller
will barton- beljina-
Kevin love-kevin garnet-payne
Karl anthoney Towns-JJ hickson

with the promising play of KO. We need to find a way to get him the starting 4 position and not force him to play Center permanently. This trade guarantees KO to the bench when we get a center, I don't like that.

Ibaka is not worth Sullinger and Green.  One of them and a pick maybe

I disagree. I like this trade a lot. Rim protection is probably our biggest weakness. Plus, Ibaka is a good perimeter shooter, so the move wouldn't hurt our spacing at all.

Ibaka is as close to untradeable as it gets in the NBA. It certainly is fun to dream about, though.

I kind of agree.

It helps with shot-blocking, but it creates a big hole at the 3, doesn't lessen the logjam at the 4 and we still don't have a center.  And no way OKC is trading ibaka.

No team would trade Ibaka for those two players.  Not even the sixers.

Indy wouldn't do that deal either, IMO. Top centers are hard to come by.

He elevated the Thunder to a 2-2 series tie with the Spure when they looked like they would get demolished. Those first two games were not even close. His impact on that team is huge. They'd move Westbrook before they move him.

I LOVE Sullinger, and that's still a ridiculous thing to say. Presti laughs and hangs up.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

We will lose our best offensive players. I like the idea but there must be more creative ways. I'd give them picks and fillers instead.

It's weird, because I agree he's untradeable. However, he falls into that strange untradeable range of non stars.

To me, he's not quite a star.

Would be a pretty perfect fit with us, though. But there's no way okc is trading their rim protection. I don't think they'd be seen as true contenders without him
I trust Danny Ainge

It's ridiculous from Boston's side as well.  Ibaka doesn't have nearly the impact on Boston where he has to be the guy, instead of a 5th wheel in OKC behind Westbrook, Durant, Durant and Westbrook.

Ibaka would be a huge defensive upgrade but losing Green's offense and defense at the three would almost counteract that.  And who knows?  Sully could be a better all around player in 2 or 3 years.

I just wonder what happens to poor Mitch McGary here. Does he just board plane after plane, flying one giant circle from OKC to Boston to Indiana?

I don't like this trade for anybody.

Ibaka is more of a 4 than a 5 and the Celtics need a center next to KO.  Plus, I'd prefer Sully as the 4 over KO.  And I don't feel too good with Turner as the starting 3.

The Thunder have a good thing going with Ibaka and Adams as their front court.  They just need to tread water until Durant and Westbrook return.

Indiana will then need a center and Green will be regulated to the bench when George comes back.

Any move the Celtics make will need to be in light of future seasons, not to contend this year.  They just have too many young guys to expect them to go far this season.
