This team is a lot of fun, but they can't be taken seriously without an upgrade in the middle.  Look around the league -- EVERYBODY has better defensive bigs.  There might be 3 teams with worse interior defense.  It's not a winning formula.  Horford isn't a world beater on defense, but he's very solid and a big upgrade over Olynyk.  I think he'd pair very well with Sully and make one mean frontcourt.

There are some question marks around Horford.  His health, and whether Atlanta will want to re-up after next year, and for what amount.  It all hinges on his play and health this year.  I say roll the dice.  Bundle a first-rounder (or two!) with Jeff Green, Bass, Olynyk, cap relief... whatever.  Basically anything outside of Rondo, Smart, Bradley, Sully that makes sense.

What would it take?  Any Hawks fans out there?

I love Horford's game. I'd trade any of which you mentioned for him. The trick is, i dont think Atlanta is trading him for anything short of a star player.

This is generally how I feel about it too, although their franchise is enough of a mess internally right now that I wouldn't want to send anyone on our roster there.

He's a punk? What has he done to deserve that title?

Green, Bass, Clippers first, Nets 2016 first.  Get it done, Danny!

I know that Paul Pierce, for one, has never talked an ounce of trash in his life. Him and his buddy Kevin, they're basically Mormons on the court.

Horford would make the Celtics a treadmill team. Horrible target. The Celtics need to tank hard for Okafor or Towns. Nothing else matters.

Disagree.  I think one solid interior defender would go a long ways on this team.  A lot further than any 18 yr old.  I like Marc Gasol a lot too, but he's untouchable.
