I want to see us get a center in next year's draft by winning the lottery with a late lottery pick.  Unrealistic I know.
I love Olynyk's potential as an offensive minded big off the bench.  You can manage his defensive shortcomings that way by managing the matchups.

I agree KO as a 6th man in a 3 big rotation is ideal.

C, would be my first preferably a rim protector although I do think a lights out shooter would help at Wing or SG too.    But I think C is the priority.

Just curious what people are thinking.  What position do you most want to upgrade. Who are you willing to sacrifice in order to do it?
Center's the obvious need but I don't think we need an all-star.  just a guy that can play solid D without being a foul machine, rebound respectably on the defensive boards and not have hands of complete stone for catching passes from Rondo for basic lay-ins.

I'd be willing to move AB, Bass, Zeller and/or Thornton depending on the quality of player coming back.  I'd probably move Green too depending on how that leaves us at SF and the returning player.

with AB's improved play and the likelihood Smart and Young can step in for him completely by next year, I think he's a good trade chip right now.  Not to mention Turner (and Thornton if not traded) can fill that hole this year.  D won't be as good on the perimeter but if it addresses the harder-to-fill hole in the middle, I'd move him

I would definitely consider moving either Sullinger or Olynyk for a center of equal value who can play good defense.

I want an athletic center that can do athletic center things. I think that Olynyk's destiny is off the bench or at the 4. I would very readily part with both James Young and Marcus Smart for a young athletic defender like Nerlens Noel or Larry Sanders, for example.

Kawhi Leonard just opted to be RFA in the summer 0f 2015.

He wanted the max and the Spurs are not willing to give it to him at the moment.

Celtics finish 9th in the East, win the lottery, draft Okafor, sign Leonard to the max, re-sign Rondo

Rondo, Bradley, and Smart at the 1/2
Leonard, Yound at the 3
Sully, Okafor, Olynyk, Zeller at the 4/5

Ahhhhhh..... That felt good

The sacrifice is having a good player at the 2 guard spot?

This is one of those get in trouble type questions. I would like to see this team play together for 1/2 a season before I can make a judgement of what position or positions need upgrading. I suspect that Danny will find little opportunities to upgrade here or there. I think trading Rondo is a mistake and it sends the wrong message to the young team who needs the leader.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
