The only teams I could see being interested are....

NYK (Amare , Hardaway and 2018 1st rd pick) plus the Phil Jackson connection  .

Mem (Prince exp ,Koufos exp , Lee 2yrs, Pondexter 3yrs 3mil 2 first rd picks)

Sac (Landry, Derrik Williams, Thompson and McLemore)

Any other teams that might be interested ?

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Why do you think Randle's injury changes the Lakers outlook for the season?

Randle didn't make or break the Lakers season. He's still learning. Kobe is the reason they're even nationally televised. Kobe fills the seats, they're not getting rid of him because a rookie got injured.

I could see him being traded to the Knicks. They are built to win now.  The Lakers probably need to go into tank mode, hoping to get a couple of good draft picks over the next couple of years. They will always be a strong FA destination, and a market attraction.

A trade with the Knicks makes a lot of sense.  I think the Knicks would have to get Carmelo to sign off on it though, politically. He was just quoted saying his turn down of Lakers had noting to do with Kobe, so this could get very interesting.

What I can't even begin to understand is why does Kobe want to stay in LA? He's clearly reaching the end of his career, and needs 1 more ring to tie MJ. Why not demand a trade to a contender (Memphis like the OP suggested; they'd be an instant contender) so he can retire on top?

Kobe has a no-trade clause so it's probably moot.  The only team I could see him maybe accepting a trade to is the Clippers.

Nah.  Ask anyone - from Phil, to the coach, to even Melo - and they'll fully acknowledge that they are not winning anything this season.

Well it would have to be a team that is a contender, that has the ability to take on 24 million without giving up much core, that could still provide the Lakers decent value, that Kobe would actually go to, and that would actually want Kobe.  So that eliminates every team in the league.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Yep. Kobe knows that jumping to a contender does nothing for his legacy. MJ didn't get six rings by ring chasing , they were all for the Bulls

Kobe generates too much money for the Buss' to be trade. Jeanie Buss loves him, or rather the value he brings to the franchise, and feels he's worth every penny.

The Lakers generate money from their TV contract, which is based on ratings. Kobe brings ratings. Plus, the Buss' don't have any other source of income, like many NBA owners do, other than what the Lakers give them. It's a reason why they signed him to a 2 year deal and why they won't re-build in the foreseeable future. Too much money would be lost.

Quote
“Kobe is worth every penny, and I’d never had any doubt that he’d contribute to this team,” Jeanie Buss said. “We have a (salary) cap, but we also have a (salary) floor, and you do have to spend it. This is a team that’s paying $10 million (this season) to Steve Nash, and $9 million to Jordan Hill, so we have those two players for $19 million, so Kobe for $24 million sounds pretty good. Especially since the $10 million player isn’t going to play for us this year (Nash is out for the season, and likely his career, because of a recurring back problem).”
