I don't see how Randle going down makes the Lakers worse, for this year. His development will certainly take a hit, but he's not ready make a positive impact for a team yet.
That's because college basketball is horrible and it take time to adjust.
The Lakers are horrible, but Randle was the guy with at least some upside. That was only going to happen with development, which should have happened during the season. A rookie not helping in game 1 does not tell us much about what his impact will be by game 42.
