I think Duncan deserves a second look at just how incredible job he has done keeping San Antonio up near the top of the Western Conference despite:

* Tony Parker being out injured for almost 30% of the season
* Kawhi Leonard missing 40% of the Spurs games
* Tiago Splitter missing 50% of the Spurs games.

Duncan is the bedrock that keeps San Antonio functioning through all these injuries and he has them at 30 wins and 17 losses. Only 2 wins out of 3rd place in the West. Spurs rate 3rd in defensive efficiency.

15 / 10 / 3 / 2 blocks and 1 steal in 30mpg.

Everything on both ends of the court - offense and defense - still revolves around him. Spurs rate 3rd in defensive efficiency despite major injuries to key defenders like Kawhi Leonard and Tiago Splitter. Duncan as a facilitator (team offense - passing, shooting) key to keeping Spurs offense ticking over.

Duncan has been incredible.

TP.

Anyone saying Timmy got into this All-Star game as a nostalgia / lifetime achievement is being ridiculous for every reason you mentioned. I think some people just assume "Oh hey it's the Spurs, they have so much depth and experience they'll be at the top". Duncan is the rock for this team and I'm so glad it has been recognised by the Coaches.

Not taking anything away from Boogie either, he has been spectacular this season. If he keeps up this level of play and still doesn't get into the All-Star game next season, well words will be had then.

I'm fine with Duncan getting in, but All-Star selections are individual awards, not team awards.  Realistically team performance gets factored in, but equally realistically Cousins has been a better individual player this year.

Seems like it gets into the classic "most valuable vs best" argument that comes up regularly.  Maybe it's fair to argue that Cousins has been better but Duncan more valuable.

Apologize if this is a repeat, but congrats to Boogie:

http://espn.go.com/nba/allstar2015/story/_/id/12254404/demarcus-cousins-sacramento-kings-replaces-kobe-bryant-los-angeles-lakers-western-conference-all-star-roster

Quote
It is the first All-Star appearance for Cousins, who ranks fifth in the NBA in scoring (23.8 points per game) and third in rebounding (12.3 rebounds per game).

As the league noted in a release, over the last 20 years, only five players -- David Robinson, Shaquille O'Neal, Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan and Kevin Love -- have averaged at least 23 points and 12 rebounds in a season.

Cousins is the Kings' first All-Star since 2004 and he replaces Bryant, who was voted in as a Western Conference All-Star starter for a record 17th consecutive year. The 36-year old Bryant suffered a season-ending shoulder injury last week in a loss to New Orleans, his third consecutive season-ending injury.

Well-Deserved. I hope he shows off in his opportunity :)

Display that all-around game, Boogie!

Would love to see Lillard tee off on ATL and snap their streak tonight because of his all star snub.

Solid League Pass game.

He has been on a tear, really. That Miami locker room has probably kept him grounded and in check too.

This is the new Linsanity, Hassanity. Only this time, I think he can sustain this.

I really want him to get 30 rebounds.  I believe that Kevin Love was the last guy to accomplish that feat.

Dude, apparently you were ahead of the game for quite some time. This Whiteside kid has been killing it. He's almost reaching Linsanity levels lol
