For all the second guessing NO endured over not pairing Noel with Davis, maybe they knew what they were doing after all?

If you look at their recent moves, they've been trying to surround Davis with veteran-ish players (trading for Holiday, trading for Asik) because they're trying to capitalize on his potential sooner than later.

I think they know they're in a small market and when that day finally does come where Davis is a FA, New Orleans can say, "SEE! We did the best we could Anthony. Now sign that extension..."

I think it's even simpler than that.  They're a small market and probably really eager to start reaping in that playoff revenue again.  They're also probably looking for more national TV exposure.  The better their team is, the more they'll be seen on TV.

I think NOP fast-tracked their rebuilding process because they wanted to provide winning environment for Anthony Davis to learn the right habits while developing by winning.

If you actually look at that lineup.

Holiday, Evans, Davis, Asik

That's a great defensive squad. They are thin on the bench but with those four playing good defense, they'll be a very competitive out to every team.

Yeah I think they're doing it right. Noel might not hit his stride(if he hits his stride) until Davis is  2-3 years away from being a UFA.

Can't say I know NOH financial motives, but all the vets that they've brought in while being established players, are also far from old.

I say Ariza outplays Kobe tonight.

I think Ariza's defensive quickness and length will be too much for Kobe. Force Kobe into a lot of low percentage attempts.

Jordan Hill is a fantastic offensive rebounder. Causing Dwight a lot of problems on off-boards.

Me neither. Haven't been following the offseason after the draft and the acquisition of Turner....too busy traveling to Boston, and the rest of the east coast during the summer as a Los Angeles native.  ;)

Oh boy, what a three pointer by James Harden. Off the dribble with Kobe right in his face.
