I love seeing comments like this.  Means nothing, but I immediately went to the trade machine.   Found nothing useful.  To bad.  I'd give them there pick back if they could take Wallace.   Seems silly since they had Dudley.

Here is the comment.

The Clippers will need to make a trade at the deadline. Something's still not quite right with the roster in L.A., and I think coach Doc Rivers knows it. Expect the Clippers to make a move for a veteran forward who can play both positions, a Gerald Wallace-type. (Maybe Gerald Wallace himself? Rivers does owe Danny Ainge a solid.) Whoever conjured that idea up likely had been awake way too long.

Only if you're not paying much attention to the Clippers' roster.

There has to be a better available 3 out there. Wallace might not even crack OUR rotation.

I think Wallace is a player that needs minutes.   But Turner/Green > Wallace.   With our log jam at SF he will continue to get 10/15 a night tops.

No one wants/can match salary for him.

That's because our 3-4 positions are actually quite deep and strong. Again, the Clippers have depth and talent issue there and a lack of versatility.

Availability and attainability are certainly things to consider always, as well as potential better options out there, but there's no need to dismiss the idea when Wallace would be of help for a team like the Clippers, particularly with what he brings on the defensive side and veteran leadership which Doc salivates over.

In any case, not going to happen as already mentioned due to lack of salaries to match, doesn't mean Clippers wouldn't be interested in a guy like Wallace.

There in lies the rub. They'd need to trade like 8 players or part with Redick which I don't see. But even if they could realistically match salaries, it still doesn't make sense to trade for a bad player with one of the worst contracts in the whole league.

I think they'd be better off with Stephen Jackson.

Wallace other then being over paid, is actually a great player off the bench for a contender, the guy does all the intangibles perfect.

Hustle, defend, rebounds good for his position, great passes, good cuts. He really is something the clippers need off the bench.

Who am I kidding, nobody wants Wallace  :-\

The Clippers like their wings to be shooters; that's not exactly what Wallace is going to bring to the table.

Jackson is not a good locker room guy.

Or so I've heard.

Think is, Wallace's contract isn't really as bad now as it was a year or two ago. This is because:

1) Next year he goes into the final year of his contract and hence (effectively) will morph from Gerald Wallace into "$10M expiring contract and who cares what his name is"

2) With the new TV deal coming up in a few years contracts will mean less, so his contract won't put any teams in to long term trouble

The Clippers signed Jackson last year and then cut him after picking up Danny Granger and Hedo Turkoglu, so I don't think that Doc is interested in Captain Jack anymore.  Granger had a few good games, sure, but he wasn't that good, and Turkoglu was awful, so if both of those guys were deemed better players than Jackson then, why would they sign him now?  If he doesn't retire, he should just go over to China and play with Artest again ahahaha ;D, and if that doesn't work, he can always go work at a strip club (he spent a lot of time there as a Pacer, iirc lol) ;D.  Come on Jack - shake it for daddy (sarcasm) ;D ;D ;D

I'd rather see that 10-15 go to Young.
