I agree with them. Stats and resume are on trajectory to be hall of famer.

3 is a stretch.. Maybe 6 or 7 depending on how Davis progresses.

Yup ....doesn't take a rocket scientist to see he has elite skill for a big man.

He is one of the next stars....elite stars ......behind KD and LBJ

I think Parker and Smart will be all stars one day as well.   Most likey a Wiggins too.

I like Davis, but can he lead NO to the playoffs before ranking him in the top 5?

The unibrow's got a really bright future, but that's too high.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

LBJ wouldn't make the playoffs with his early Cavs teams in the current western conference either.

KG missed the playoffs while playing MVP caliber ball, etc.

I think there's a big difference between the bubble of underratedness that KG toiled away in during his tenure in Minny and the "it's only a matter of time" godhead status that Davis has been anointed with in NOLA though.

In truth, Davis is simply the first player with Capital S Superstar potential to be snagged with the number one draft pick in the "tanking is a good idea" era of NBA fandom, so everyone who's even slightly on board with that idea has to pin their hopes on the notion that he really does turn into a world beater, because otherwise their preferred method of thinking about 'how the NBA should work' is invalid.

He's the real deal.

Outside of Lebron, probably the most untouchable (trade value) guy in the NBA right now.   And Davis has age in his corner.

Not sure I see the controversy.

This is a forward-looking projection for the upcoming year. So, saying Davis doesn't deserve it because of past performance is invalid to me. I think there were better players last year but I wouldn't bet against Davis being top 3 this year. He's 21 and so a good bet to improve, and he was already great.

The next two guys on the list are Westbrook and Griffin. Are people saying that for this upcoming year they'd pick those two over Davis?

Well that, and also, barring stupidity on New Orleans ownership's part or an urge by Davis to go to another place, why would you move him?

You're looking at a 21 year old kid coming off a season where he shot over 50% from the field, nearly 80% from the line and a stat line of 20.8/10.0/2.8.    For a 21 year old in his 2nd year.  That's amazingly remarkable.   He's a cornerstone guy and being only 21 years old, he's about as untouchable as you can get in the NBA.   Injuries could be the only thing that derails this kid.
