#Pelicans like Rivers as player, but decision not to pick up option is financial due to potential salary cap implications.

Has there ever been a coach's kid who played less like a coach's kid?

The kid was smart. He came out when the hype on him was huge. One more year, never-mind two, would've potentially exposed his weaknesses even more.

He was drafted 10th, a mid-lottery selection, with rumors of going even higher. He did the right thing monetarily, at least for the short-term.

In retrospect, I'm glad we didn't give up anything substantial for him. Since Danny is still in the accumulating assets stage, i'd take a flyer on him if we could get him for cheap, even with all of our guards. It's all about assets. Danny Special: low-risk, high-reward potential.

Bynum for Rivers?  Saves about $500k for the C's, and Bynum might be a better fit in NO.

Not worth rookie scale contract but still worth a punt on a minimum contract.

Has some talent. Just struggling to figure out how to use it.

Nevermind I'm an idiot who can't use calenders.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I bet Danny signs him next season to backup Smart, if Rondo is not here.

Austin Rivers only chance to succeed in the nba is to play the pg position imo.  I think BS would really help Rivers out

haha .  seriously?

Austin River the celtics next season or another team will get one more shot.   you just can't expect him to excel as a SG. he is too small (size not height) with a short wingspan.

But he has very decent handles , scoring capability. Decent jump shot
