36-46 after a rough start.

This. The schedule to start the season is rough.. but it seems like Brad Stevens will keep them fighting. They'll probably go on some good stretches in the middle of the season when the games don't matter much.

Honestly, I think our record early won't be great but we'll beat some good teams.  Always seems to happen with young hungry teams early on when the top squads are easing into the regular season.  See Philly (and us) vs Miami last season.

Our run and gun approach fits with this idea too. If we're taking 25 3-pointers a night, there will be nights when we hit 14 of them and we can probably beat anybody.

Then, there will be the nights we go 4/30...

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I actually agree with the 42-40. Are the Celtics with a healthy Rondo really that far behind, say, Memphis (starting Tony Allen and Courtney Lee) or Phoenix or Charlotte in talent?

In Brad we trust ...

Yes. The answer to that question is yes.

I'm sticking with 36 wins, but it might be worth considering that we benefit from playing Philly and NY a combined 8 games. Looking at that NYK roster, I really believe they're just going to lay down and die a month into the season, similar to the Larry Brown Knicks. Shumpert didn't become the player he was hyped by some to be, Hardaway jr is terrible defensively, as are Amare' and Bargs. JR Smith is still toxic. I just see that team doing a nose dive early. If we went 7-1 or even 8-0 against the two of them, it really wouldn't surprise me.

sticking with what I've been saying for a couple of months: 27-55.  14th in the East -- behind everyone but Philly.  Not necessarily far behind several other teams, but just enough to be next to dead last in the conference.

42-40
Someone in this forum is cheesing.  :P

Anything else would be an under-performance and/or Rondo didn't come to play at his level.

Take into consideration that our crappy team last year was on a 32-win pace before Lee was traded. I think we're significantly better right now.
Even with a healthy Rondo not being traded and everyone performing near 100% of his ability without any injuries, 35 wins is the upper limit. But this is a lot of "ifs".

Thanks for clarifying, wasn't sure where to place the ceiling so went with 42 wins arbitrarily.
TP. You' ve got me: my guess is as arbitrary as anybody else's. I did not mean to sound arrogant.
But seriously now, I expect this team to be somewhere around 27 give or take two.

I think the Celtics are going to be a surprise team in the East and go 42-40.

More than 35 wins.

We are going to be much better than last year.
