So you're including Zach Randolph's best year in the conversation now  ;D

I have no doubt that Sullinger can hit those sort of numbers in preseason games against somewhat lessened defensive pressure.

I'm just posting numbers.  If he can play 36 minutes per game, cray-cray as it may sound to you, I don't think 17 and 11 is out of the question.

No center in the league averaged 36 minutes per game last season. The closest is Joakim Noah with 35.3 MPG. Jared Sullinger is NOT going to play 36 minutes this year.

30 minutes, 9 rebounds, 14.5 points, 1.5 assists, 0.5 steals, 1 block, 1 turnover

These are Sullinger numbers, and they're real good. Don't project him for Kevin Garnett numbers, people.

I'm say 16/10. He was 13/8 last year after all.

Good point about the minutes.  I'll gladly take 15 and 9.

I do think it's possible that he goes a little higher than that, though.  I'll admit 17 and 11 is a stretch.  But, it sure would be nice.

I am going to say smaller bump in points but drastic in rebounds.  Too much scoring to go around on a team that will share the ball a lot, Rondo, Bradley, Green and Sully will all average around 15 points per game.

I think we are looking at 15 pts, 12.5 rebounds 2 assists and 2 3's a game.   I wanted to to say 13 rebounds but he will not get quite enough minutes unless bass gets traded.  If for some reason he makes the leap and becomes BS's focused scorer he will be an all-star this year and will average 18pts instead of 15.

I mean full disclosure I'd be estatic if Sully could go 18/13/3 over a season. That's some legitimate hall of fame caliber play.

If he can manage to log 36 minutes per game this year, and score and rebound at the same rate he did last year, we'll be looking at 17, 11, and 2.

If Sully could stay on the court for 26 - 28 minutes a game I would be impressed.

I'd say an average of 14 and 8 would be expected.

Don't be ridiculous. Sully averaged 28 mpg last year (27.6 mpg to be exact) amongst a more crowded front court. With the departure of Humphries and the role reduction of Bass, as well as the greater willingness to allot KO's extra minutes at C instead of taking them from Bass and Sully at PF, Sully should play 30 mpg this year.

I expect increased minutes and a more efficient use of those minutes (no injuries, particularly on his hand, to damper his shooting percentages; seems to have a greater mental grip on the game and being a pro) to result in something like 16/10 on 45/35/70. If he can go the extra mile and throw in 2.5 apg, that'd be great.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

I don't see 13 boards a game happening, but I don't see how 18/10/3 over a season is that much of a stretch.  A full year of Rondo, an uptick in minutes, and a MUCH more consistent outside shot should allow the possibility of this happening.

Unless you're talking 2013 Garnett, haha. You pegged his numbers from that year almost exactly.

I think he would keel over at 30 minutes.   Besides Sully can be foul prone at times and it seems the officials had it in for him a few times last year with the flagrants.

Great stuff.  You just made the most optimistic prediction in this thread for Sully's numbers next season.

That's what I call irony.

That's not a prediction, its detailing my reaction to an extraordinarily unlikely event  ;)

I see now I should've typed 12 instead of 13. Oh well, I'd still be pretty stoked about that.

But, nobody else predicted those numbers.  One poster went as high as 18 and 12.  Everyone else had lower numbers.

You may find 17 and 11 or 16 and 10 to be outlandish, but don't start exaggerating our exaggerated expectations.

Edit:

OK, I see you changed to 18 and 12.  That does seem awfully high, but let me remind you that so far only one poster has predicted those lofty numbers.

Before you know it, though, unless someone is there to rein in your hyperbole, you'll go around posting about all us "nonsensically, outlandish homers predicting that Jared Sullinger is going to put up 25 and 14 this season and win league MVP."

I see this kind of thing on these forums all the time.  For example, last year when some of us were optimistically predicting that we could win 35 games or so and be in the hunt for the playoffs (we were wrong, so be it), other posters were mocking us saying that we were predicting that the Celtics were going to win the 2014 NBA title.

Of course, no one was saying that.

It may seem like I'm being nit-picky and childish about all this, but, this tendency to over-exagerrate others' opinion and then mock them is something of a pet peeve of mine.

I think Sullinger's going to break Wilts seasonal scoring average.
