Rondo- Smart: no brainer
Turner- Bradley: I'm torn on this but think turner gives us best chance to win
Green-Young -Wallace: give the pup some run
Sully- Oly: how can you keep sully out of the starting 5?
Zeller- Oly: Oly will be the super sub, compliments both bigs and adds stability and playmaking to second unit.

I'm actually pretty torn on this for the following reasons:
1-Turner is a great playmaker in the second unit.
2-Oly stretches the floor and provides another shooter for rondo
One of these two needs to come off the bench. Maybe it should be turner but IMO the starting line up is actually pretty good with ET at the 2.
Maybe Oly starts at center but I think his composed all around have will anchor the 2nd unit.
Thoughts?

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Nice idea for a thread. But do consider that never all are healthy in any given time.

Well, Stevens flat out said Olynyk is the starting center.

Rondo - Smart
Bradley - Thornton
Green - Turner (point forward role)
Sullinger - Bass
Olynyk - Zeller

I think it'll come down to Wallace and Thornton, but think the latter gets the nod. Zeller will probably get  less minutes than Bass, as Stevens goes with the better player.

If they were actually trying to win there would be no reason to play 10 or more guys.  It should go

Rondo-Smart
Bradley-Turner
Green-Turner
Sully-Olynyk
Olynyk-Zeller.

Smart can even see some mins at the two and Turner can see some mins at the one.

this is ridiculous. An 8 man rotation for an entire year? Not happening.

Winning isn't the issue. The top 8 aren't good enough to keep 9 and 10 off the floor.

If we were 'trying to win', we would be delusional. We will try to win every night, but we won't win much, no matter what the minutes are. I also fail to see why we would be giving no minutes to Bass if we are 'trying to win'.

Making guys play extended minutes on a team that Stevens wants to run a lot will not lead to a better record.

Rondo 35 - Smart 10 - Turner 3
Bradley 25 - Thorton 15 - Smart - 8
Green 27 - Turner 21
Sully 23 - Bass 20 - Green 5
KO 28 - Zeller - 16 - Sully 4

Young, Wallace, Powell become the odd men out and Young and Wallace should also be getting minutes.

There's not enough minutes to go around...

Why would we only play 8 guys if we were 'trying to win'? We are planning to run a lot and play fast. That means needing fresh legs, not shortened rosters, especially when 1-8 are so weak, and 7-8 are not any better than 9-10 (just younger).

Not even the best teams play a rotation of 8 guys in the regular season.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Well X factors.
Someone redundant is being traded or abetter player is being traded (rondo, green, sully, ko)
Will turner be used as a top sixth man of the year candidate? Getting minutes at pg,sg,sf?

Otherwise.
Rondo, Bradley, green, sully, ko
Best players at their posistions.  I can see a blending of first and second unit to make both groups more solid.  I believe Stevens might do this especially if he is going with the all out attack each guy getting 20 odd minutes and using our strength depth to run other teams into the ground.
