Again, there isn't some kind of mystery to this -- Walker's been very open and upfront about where the bulk of his money went, and it wasn't lost to gambling. I don't see what gambling addiction has to do with it, since, you know, that wasn't the reason he went broke.
Depends of if you can rely on his assertion, gambling addicts are universally liars to conceal/feed their addiction.

Additionally real estate speculation can just be another form of gambling depend on how you actually approach it, just like the stock market.

Yeah its the whole: "You're broke? How dare you consume *insert every concievable luxury good including a stuff as simple as a pie for desert". If you just ate bulk rice and beans you could pay your rent/mortgage/alimony/bills/etc."

You've got to be kidding me. Are you really equivocating between a man squandering a hundred million dollars by living beyond his prodigious means and the "poor people shouldn't have a microwave oven" trope?
No not really the fixation on his gambling is same impulse, especially if he lost the bulk of his fortune via investments that went bad. (though I'm somewhat skeptical to his own account)

It is the same trope.

yea that is my read too. He definitely lost some money gambling cause he owed it to the casinos. In general though it sounds more interesting and makes it easier to rip the guy if he lost it gambling than say poor real estate investments.

It sounds better, but it's semantics. The only difference between gambling at Vegas and gambling on the housing market is the free drinks; especially the way that he decided to do it.

poor baztard. At least he looks like he is still eating as much as he wants.

Has he really lost everything?   I'm sure he buried 5 million somewhere. I mean at least 1 million somewhere. right?

Allen Iverson  has said he is broke also. But a few weeks ago had front court seats at the game. He has 50 million dollars that is kept in trust by Reebook until he is like 50 or something.  So i'm sure he has made a deal with someone to loan him 10 million now and they will get back double.

The other major sport stars i can believe that are def fully broke are Eric Williams and Terrell Owens . Worse than gambling is likely having to pay multiple child support.

Sounds like 'Toine is getting back on his feet.  I wish him the best.  He's a Celtic legend who gave us some great memories in the early 2000s.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Legend I think is stretching things a bit.  He was a decent, albeit controversial player on a lot of bad teams - and one decent one.  My main memories of him are his volume shooting, the Wiggle and the posse that followed him around through a good part of his career with the Celtics.

definitely not a legend. But he was a fan favorite. It wasn't easy to digest the news when he got traded to the Mavs.

It's also too bad he was a dummy and took soooo many threes.  If he kept in better shape and didn't shoot as many threes, he could of been a top 5 player in the league.  He could of been like a Lebron or a poor man version

ok, poor man version.  But back in the day you didn't see too many guys 6'9 240 pounds that could handle/pass the ball like Toine.  He had alot of ways to score the ball but instead resorting to shooting one too many threes
