Also, the fact that we're hearing about the trade being worked on instead of already finalized makes me think Ainge wants to pull a third team in.

Prelude to a Rondo trade?

Not likely.  The trade would probably worked out first with all the possible moving part in place.  Anthony and his expiring contract could be useful.

HUH?!?!

Makes sense Joel wasn't going to play much we save 1 million in cap space. Bynum contract is up after this year. And maybe mid year Danny trades Will to a playoff team. But 1 million dollars is a huge savings.

Bynumite! Happy for Joel Anthony. Pistons are a much better situation for him than Boston.

Not sure what this means for Pressey. Conventional wisdom might say we're a developing team and we should play only young players but Phil Presssy's career path would be a success if he developed into what Will Bynum is right now.

Interesting move if the trade goes through. Maybe Pistons are setting up for a bigger move.

I think they just need another big. Aaron Gray is the only other backup center on their roster.

Edit: And considering how much of a cult hero Bynum is in Detroit, seems like Pistons brass really do want Anthony.

If Pressey is going to sit all year he may have already asked to be dealt or cut.

I say keep Pressey just for chemistry's sake.

A second year undrafted free agent has to be happy just to be on the roster at this point. I'm not really sure Pressey could get minutes on other teams besides the sixers.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

from espn insider:

Rajon Rondo | PG | Boston Celtics

There's no more obvious trade candidate than Rondo, who is an impending free agent on a team that surely won't contend for a playoff berth this season. After falling short in his quest to add a veteran star this summer, Danny Ainge appears resigned to a lengthy rebuilding process. In that scenario, dealing Rondo for picks and prospects is the most sensible outcome -- after a broken bone in his left hand has healed.

I think he proven that he's a viable backup PG in the right situation so if he's let go he'll be on another roster fairly quickly.  But I do think he's going to be one of those guys who never stays in one place for very long...mainly because he can't shoot.

It still doesn't make sense to me. How many picks and prospects do we need? We are already stocked with expirings, prospects, and picks so when and if a veteran star becomes available we are properly equip to make an offer.

Being that he was so liked is why I wonder if something else is coming.

Gray is out indefinitely after suffering what has only been described as a cardiac episode.  The Pistons signed Hasheem Thabeet to an unguaranteed contract, but they currently have 16 guaranteed contracts.
