It appears the sportswriters and basketball experts at ESPN that make these lists value Rondo's game a lot more than the average Celticsblogger does.

I hope you're not just figuring this out.  I mean, he was like 10th one year and people were still saying we need a new PG.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Celticbloggers hate on their own mothers :'(

"Ma, you didn't **** cut the crust off the bread on my sandwich!"  "Ma, where's my laundry?"
"Ma, run down to the store and get me some beer and cigarettes".

Do you think they will be favorable to players on the team they cheer for?  Meh!

This reminds me of when everyone started to turn on ray and labeled him the scapegoat.

Very different than Ray, Ray left after the C's offered him a larger contract as a free agent.

If Rondo leaves the C's in free agency you'll see the backlash then, or maybe if he talks down about the C's if he's traded.

This is just par for the course when the team isn't a winner.

what does the contract have to do with anything, people are so Hippocratic these days. Ray made his money, went to a way better team. No matter how mad i was about it, larger contract had nothing to do with it. We all know Ray was not happy.

Im not sure what Rondo is right now, but im leaning towards him not being that happy if next year this losing continues.

LOL, [dang] doctor's always mucking things up.

I think people can understand better when a player moves on and the team either doesn't want him or offers less money. The hate of going to a playoff rival that had just beat us at a discount was predictable/understandable even if you didn't share it.

And to play a similar (or lesser) role  he was unhappy about in the first place.

I sware it was on autospell lol.

No matter what decision Ray came to , it was going to be hell that season, Bradley starting, Terry signed, team sinking, Rondo beef

no point for Ray to waste his time here, it all ended a year later anyway. he saw it coming.

And maybe he just wanted to move to nice sunny Miami.

I just see Rondo at the crossroad right now. Even the fan base is starting to turn on him, at least the one on Celticsblog.

You're arguing against something I'm not saying, you're saying that Ray's leaving was understandable and made sense.

I'm saying the circumstances are different than Rondo's and then going into details as to why the fanbase was unhappy with Ray. (I know I was) So I guess we're done? High fives all around?

It's fair. Especially since he only played 30 games last season. They have Kobe at 40  ;D

On an anger scale of 1-10 that's about the level kobe fans are at right now.  It's hilarious.

but im talking about before Ray left, the season that he played before the offseason.

He was injured, when bradley was inserted, the hate began, the Marcus Smart type posts that you see now for Rondo were happenning with Ray

even if he was playing at 60% during the playoffs people were blaming him for everything

the writing was on the wall if you will.

I predict he'll be ranked at least seven spots higher (I guess I actually mean lower--what I mean to say is, he'll be in the top thirty) by next off-season's rankings.
Hope he's still a Celtic by then.

I would say that it's totally fair for Rondo to slip in the rankings after extended injury-related absences, except

(1) Derrick Rose appears to still be on the board
(2) these rankings are utterly vapid, dumb, and pointless

The harder you look at this list, the harder it is to find any sense in it. Here's a fun game: what's the most ridiculous combination of players you can come up with? I like Monta Ellis ahead of Manu Ginobili.
