  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Anyone watch this game? Pretty funny looked like Duncan and Parker, Diaw were on the court too.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

The funny thing is that SAS is the most 'European' of NBA teams both in terms of their roster and in the way they play (for those watching Euroleague, think of Obradovic's Panathinaikos). Alba on the other hand has 5 Americans in its roster, 3 of which in the starting line-up.

On a different note, I watched a 7 min summary of the game, and I really do not understand how on earth this happened.
SAS was easily winning at the beginning, and then Alba started scoring some incredible shots (let alone the off. rebounds) against the world's best defensive team. Certainly higher motivation played a part, as well as the fact that Alba players knew their opponents much better than SAS did (+they played by European rules and in Alba's home).
But still, the difference in the quality of the teams is so great that even though this was a friendly game this easily qualifies as one of the greatest basketball surprises ever.
I now want to watch their Saturday game against Fener.  ;D

Reminiscent of Miracle Milt Palacio:

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I think this is the most "unclutch" thing Timmy has ever done.

Havlicek stole the ball!

But that was all Hondo had to do, the Celts were winning.  This guy had to start an outlet in mid air.  Great play.

I'll still take Havlicek any day  :D
Yup

Reminds me a little of the Roosevelt Jones buzzer-beater for Butler and our own Brad Stevens:
