It's not a trade that pushes Indiana over the top in the short-term or gives them more long-term assets.  Furthermore, I believe the trade pushes them over the luxury tax.  So they say no for sure.

I also don't think that the Twolves want to go into tank mode, as it is a strategy that has failed them in past.  Additionally, The Twolves could probably get a better return for Pekovic than just KO and a Martin salary dump.

The most obvious reason this wouldn't work is that Indiana gets nothing worthwhile to them and takes on Martin's bad deal. They get no promising players (Green maybe but he's opting out of that for sure) and they take on a cap-clogging contract in Martin. No reason to make this move for them. We make out big picking up Pek trading Green for a cheaper Brewer but Minnesota moves their center for KO and expirings? I just can't see it.
