That being said, if anyone takes my first pick I'll hunt you down, demand an apology, and then feel real bad about being so confrontational and offer to buy you a coffee

I'd like to nominate myself for panelist. Note extra points from Rebus if you include Canadian content.

The value of these guys just skyrocketed I think.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

So if Ricky, Julian and Bubbles aren't the top 3 picks in the draft something has gone horrendously haywire, one can assume. Jim Lahey probably deserves top 5 status too.

Best TV Show ever!

It ain't rocket appliances...

And I must say, this sounds like fun, unfortunately I just don't have the time to do it.

I'm like .00000004% responsible for this draft, but I"m pretty sure IP would be good with this answer; really, it's just supposed to be a fun draft.

I think the rules and guidelines are meant to be extremely loose. So you can pretty much do anything you'd like w/ these characters. Take whatever aspects of their backstory you'd like.

Nailed it. Hal would be pretty much perfect for Police Academy 9.

I could just be bad at reading threads, but when's this tenatively kicking off?

You're not bad at reading the threads, we haven't said much about start time.

We'll start at some point on Wednesday, 2 rounds a day.

Correct, and just reinterating again, this is meant to be laid back as lemonade on sunday, so while there are "rounds", if you miss your picks, just make them at the end of the day. No worries. You will NOT be alone. There are millions of TV characters, and even if your first and second choices are taken, a third will PROBABLY be like..just as good. What's the difference between Vic Mackey and Tony Soprano afterall but a few dozen rico cases?

I'm a little bitter about my early youth being cut off, but I can roll with my teen years in mid 80's.

Yup

I'm not sure this is intended, but it appears from the rules you can draft characters from SNL type skits such as Wayne and Garth, as long as it's after 1985

Ya, I don't think it's much of an issue. Again, just a fun, silly activity

I like the potential.

You can draft Wayne and Garth, then draft the Church Lady as Garth's mother and draft Linda Richman (from Coffee Talk) as Wayne's mother, and even draft Mike Myers character from Bill Swerski's Superfans (Da Bears) as Wayne's father.  That seems like it could make a great sitcom to me.  Practically writes itself.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I'm pretty sure the Wild and Crazy Guys made appearances after 1985....they did when they walked in on those guys with the neck thing (Chris Katan and Will Ferrell I think that used to always dance to that song  "What is love? Baby don't hurt me. Don't hurt me. No more")
