Depressing news. I was hoping something would go wrong in order for him to sign elsewhere.

Nice.

Signing Turner was actually the highlight of the offseason for me.

If he can get it together, he could end up being a really good pickup for the Celts.

I just remember he always played well against us when he was in Philly.

I've had broken bones that hurt less than this news.

Did you know Ainge broke Rondo's hand because Rondo wouldn't agree to be on the same court as Evan Turner?

Did you know Evan Turner may not know how gas gauges on cars work?

Did you know that Evan Turner is now the best player on our team?

I liked the ET signing. Now we just need to come up with a good nickname for him.

That's good to hear. Hope he makes something good of this opportunity. Turner turns it around has a nice ring to it.

I loved Turner coming out of college but he has been given every opportunity and just hasn't been able to live up to his potential.  This is his last chance I think.  The odds are against him turning it around at this point but it is not unprecedented (think Billups).  Definitely a good risk taken by the Celtics.  What do we have to lose?

Celtics announced Evan Turner signing today, and I'm told it's a two-year deal for the taxpayer mid-level exception at $3.278M per season.

Wait, why is it the taxpayer's exception? Are we paying luxury tax this this season.

One good thing about this: the Celtics don't seem to be interested in jumping through hoops to shed salary to get under the tax threshold.

If Wyc and Co. aren't concerned about the tax this season, that'll mean more options for Ainge to improve the club through trades.

No options in Evan Turner's deal. Two fully guaranteed years from Celts, sources say

Or conversely, we're staying over the tax line so we can sign Turner for less, and will promptly start looking to shed salary now.

Lol. He's not that bad. Turner can be a good contributor if given enough playing time & he's improving each year.

Well, that's also good. Turner's contract is easily movable. Ainge has the full value of that TPE from the Bogans deal (that's what's sending the Celtics into tax-land, I think).

Wallace's is the only real "bad" contract left, I think.
