First of all the  universe is telling us to trade rondo he got injured again

3 team trade

Boston sends:Rondo,Olynyk, clippers picks and philly pick

Boston gets: Deing,vuevic and rubio

Minnesota gets: Rondo and philly pick

Minnesota sends: Deing,Rubio and brewer

Orlando sends vuevic

orlando gets: olynyk, brewe and the clippers pick

Why boston does it

Dieng is a future nba all star center, he made the all rookie team.  2013-14 Season

PPG   RPG   BLKPG   PER
4.8   5.0   0.8   16.58
the kid has a better PER then rondo this  is him on his rookie year playing 13 minutes a game. he is a great rim protecter and defender at 24 years old. he is our future center and can be a cornerstone in the rebuilding process.

Vuevic

PPG   RPG   BLKPG   PER
14.2   11.0   0.8   18.85
o

vuevic has a great PER and is everything we could ever want olynyk to be. He averages a double double and doesn't play terrible defense like olynyk. He is 23 years old and 7 feet tall. He would be a back up for sully or heck be the starter. However he gives use great stability at the PF position.  He can play center if need be not a great rim protecter thought.

Finally we get Rubio he can share the load with smart until smart is ready for starter minutes . good but not great player mainly their for cap reasons.

With the celtics owner hinting he wants rondo out and we keep our picks and brooklines, we can only go up from here.

Why Minnisota does it

They want to win now. They went after bledsoe hard. we give them rondo they can go for it with a starting line up of

Rondo

wiggins

bennet

Young

Pek

That is a good young team. we also get rubio off their hands which i think they want.

Why orlando does it

Vuevic is on a on year deal. olynyk is cheaper and hopefully can become vuevic. with brewer and a clippers pick to sweeten the deal. the magic save money, get a longer term young guy and a solid veteran in brewer.

Vucevic is 23 years old averaging a DD. No way the Magic give him up for KO...especially when they have more than enough money to pay him. Don't think Rondo & Olynyk would be enough to pry 2 centers away from their franchises. Depending on if the T-wolves prefer to go the youth movement, we could trade for either Pekovic or Dieng. Just don't see Vucevic leaving Orlando. Good Centers are hard to come by and Orlando has established a young core of Payton, Oladipo, Gordon, Harris, Vucevic.

Olynyk + picks for Dieng (depending on how good KO starts off the yr)

OR

Olynyk + picks and fillers for Pekovic. Might have to include James Young too??

I guess we could throw in a brookline 2018 pick

that team will make the playoffs this year because it would have a young core of bradley, smart, vuevic and deing. then with our lottery picks coming for support and the extra monney we get off the books we can sign some players to add to a strong young foundation.

Rondo would never agree to extend in Minnesota. Does the Brookline pick also include Chestnut Hill and Brighton?

This, also this:

Rondo would never agree to extend in Minnesota.

And:

If Dieng is going to be an all-star center then I doubt Minnesota trade him for an expiring Rondo. The Magic are already talking about extending Vucevic

Oh and it's BrookLYN. Brookline is a neighborhood just outside of Pittsburgh.

Contrary to what Flip has said this off-season Minnesota is in rebuilding mode. We have the same goals as them and in most cases that will make our goals mutually exclusive. Their roster is a little better and we have a deeper cache of picks but really we're in the exact same space.

Teams that might be interested in Rondo include:

Charlotte (trying to take the next step)
LA Lakers (last chance with Kobe)
Indiana (notable PG upgrade)
Sacramento (notable PG upgrade)

I left out teams like Dallas and Houston because they are asset poor and don't have young players to offer for Rondo. I also left out teams like Milwaukee because Rondo likely won't resign there, although that might go for Indiana/Charlotte too.

My guess is that Rondo will either end up in a huge market (LA/NY) or stay here. Sadly Minnesota has as little to offer Rondo as we do. It makes no sense to send him there, for either side.

There should be a one-on-one match between Dieng and Biyombo for "Favorite Trade Traget on Celtics Blog."
