I like it!

Well done.

Only issue with that lineup is the Celts would definitely need more offense.

Also, I would definitely start Smith at the 4 instead of the 3.

I think that experiment failed in Detroit last year.

There is no way that Smith is a SF.  That was the biggest problem for the Pistons last year.  He can't shoot the outside jumper and isn't quick enough to play there.  They realized it and that's why they're interested in moving him. If we pick up Smith (and I don't want to) it has to be to play PF.

OKC's gotta give up more than that for any of these other teams to agree.

This trade proposal is interesting. It's hard to say who might say no. If the Celtics get Smith, then they probably can get Rondo to stay. OKC gets more offensive firepower. Detroit might be the problem. They are giving up the best player and Green can opt out after this year. On the plus side for them, Smith is owed $40 million over the next three years and has not played well at the 3. I think that Detroit might want a 1st round pick instead of a 2nd round pick, or possibly both. The Clippers pick would not be a deal killer for me. For us, Smith is not a long term solution at the 3 and this deal might be a prelude to a Sullinger trade, maybe for a solid small forward. Smith, Perkins and Bradley certainly make us a terrific defensive team. I like this deal.

I agree with your response I.S.  I think it would take the Clippers pick going to Detroit (unless as you say the money, and possibly chemistry, is the motivation for them).  As Smith should be a PF I don't know how Danny would shake things out after this deal....

I agree with you guys about having him play power forward and leaning towards a sullinger trade. Clips 15 I would also agree to send to detroit along with the two second round picks. What do you guys think about this sullinger trade: sullinger bogans and anthony for danilo gallinari.

starting 5
Rondo
AB
Galinari
Smith
Perkins

Perk is done and Josh Smith doesn't exactly have Celtic Heart wrote all over him.

Smith could play SF and Sully at PF. Sully can stretch the floor by shooting 3's, while Smith can play in the post. Also, Detroit had Drummond who needed touches in the low post. We have nobody a the Center position that'll earn that many touches.

Although a line up of Rondo, AB, Smith, Sully, Perkins could work, I wouldn't mind sending Sully to GS in a deal for Harrison Barnes.

Rondo
AB
Barnes
Smith
Perkins

Problem is...who knows if any of these deals would be enough to keep Rondo in BOS.

Pay Smith $10/hour to watch video of KG?

I think Rondo would definitely stay because smith and perkins are his two best friends, and perkins in my opinion is not done he just is a horrible fit in okc but not with a pg like rondo. I Like these trades because we instantly become a great defensive team, have a strong chance of keeping rondo, and probably make the playoffs and keep basically all of our picks.

best argument in favor is that it helps us keep Rondo. But is it worth it to take on Josh "Brick" Smith? I think not, especially since we already have two talented PF's. He would inevitably end up playing the 3, and we already know how well that turned out in Detroit.

Wrong, he only shoots .28% from there. No team will guard him and just pack it in and let him shoot us out of games.

Not if he wants to win with that roster.

Seems fair yet doesn't make this team that much better. Team may be better off to maintain it's cap flexibility and settle to rebuild/develop/tank this year.
