Shoot for the draft. Towns and Okafor seem to be the top guys. If team trades Rondo they will be bad and have a good shot to get one of them.

I want to make a run at Al Horford. I know it's a long shot. I know it would take a lot. I'm willing to throw a lot at getting him. I think he and Rondo together would make us a *good* playoff team. Add Green, AB and Sully and I'm thinking we're as competitive as Washington or Toronto, likely better because our cast has been together a little longer and our PG is better.

You'd have to be willing to give up Sullinger and multiple firsts, which might not be enough.

Trade for:

1. Marc Gasol
2. Larry Sanders
3. Rudy Gobert

Sign Blatche/Emeka Okafor as free agents.

Draft Karl Towns or Dakari Johnson.

If nothing works, sign Greg Oden or "Wilt Kareem" Bynum.

I would like to see Biyombo brought in via trade to backup Zeller, then look to the draft for a center prospect.

2015 will be a good draft for bigs

Okafor
Towns
Cauley-Stein
Porzinggis
Turner
Diop
Johnson
Kaminsky

Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Lets just overpay for Timo Mosgov a little bit and be done with it. He'll be solid.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.

Trade for:

1. Marc Gasol
2. Larry Sanders
3. Rudy Gobert

Sign Blatche/Emeka Okafor as free agents.

Draft Karl Towns or Dakari Johnson.

If nothing works, sign Greg Oden or "Wilt Kareem" Bynum.

I would like Sanders or Gasol. Gasol might take a few expirings, picks, and Sully or KO to bring in. But Gasol/Rondo is already a great passing PG/C that can create shots for others.

Big Z isnt an every night center. Who do you want to see the Celtics go after?

Thon Maker in 16

On one hand, I think this is kind of a non-issue this year.  Even if the C's surprise and make the playoffs, they aren't going to contend seriously, so if they don't have a true center this year, it isn't that big of a deal.  But it certainly should be a long term goal.

And while I don't hate Tyler Zeller, I don't get why some people are acting like he's any more of a center than Sully and Olynyk when you factor in the fact he has short arms, doesn't block shots, and doesn't have much of a post game.  He might prove to be a decent enough bench big man, but right now I think we're better off playing Sully and Olynyk next to each other as much as possible.

What do you think he would cost in a trade?  I like Mosgov and I agree he would be solid, and if we are fortunate enough to get a solid center in the draft next year (or sign Gasol, Aldridge, etc.) Mosgov has experience coming off the bench, if we don't then Mosgov is still better then what we have.
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

Pass! The NBA is moving away from "true centers" and I am too. I'll take a PF at C if he can defend well. I think it can be Sully but he obviously (per his dad really) doesn't want to be the C.

Oh well, a few more threads on a true center and it might convince DA to get one.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

His per36 stats are very impressive. I'd like to see him get more minutes this year at Charlotte.
