Marcus Thornton can officially be traded. Bass and Bogans are available too. OKC has yet to Amnesty Perkins...

Trade ideas:

BOS trades Bass & Bogans
Receives: Perkins & Collison

OKC trades Perkins & Collison
Receives: Bass & Bogans

It's also possible Marcus Thornton and Bass are traded for Perkins, Jones, and Collison. OKC could use bench scorers like Thornton and Bass if they're serious about making a run at the 'ship!

Perkins could start at C and play 20-25 mins. Zeller and Fav could split the rest off the bench.

These two trades help the C's protect the rim this year, and get rid of two players who could play more minutes elsewhere.

And we could use a guy who is shot and a has been?   Perk gave us many good year but his knees and lift are gone.  I just don't think DA would do it.

We absolutely could. It's a win-win. He either provides rim protection (which he will), or sits on the bench since he's "shot" and is a "has been". So the C's either gain rim protection, or lose an extra game or two because they traded two expiring players for 2 other expiring players; one who happens to be a "has been".

Bass and Thornton's services could be better utilized elsewhere...

I knew it was going to be a Perkins thread.

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

To me any trade that sends out Thorton, Bass and or Bogans and brings Perk back to boston makes sense. At this point the Cs need to develop roster balance and continuity. The young players like KO and Sully need it, Coach Stevens needs it and its conducive to winning. At this point Bass and Thorton are better over all players then Perk but his skill set is needed on this team. Bass is redundant to Sully and KO and Thorton while he brings much needed scoring would be part of a log jamb of SGs.

How about instead of that OKC trade we do this instead:

Celtics Trade: Bass, Throton, Rondo, 1-2 first round picks

OKC gives: Russel Westbrook

This would keep us over the tax line unless we could dump Perkins elsewhere. No thanks.
