Ok so I got to thinking about this after reading the Rudy Gobert thread.

Is this realistic?

BOS out: Bass or Joel, maybe a pick
Bos In: Gobert

Utah out: Gobert
Utah in: Motiejunas

Hou out: Motiejunas
Hou in: Joel or Bass

why for BOS:
take a small gamble on Gobert becoming a rim protector

Why for Utah:
gobert's potetnial is ???? plus they have kanter and favors to take mins from gobert's development. they need PF's Motiejunas is young, big, and can stretch the floor.....he has shown flashes

Why for Hou:
Motiejunas doesnt seem to be in their plans, Joel can be a quality defensive backup for dwight, or they could take Bass a quality championship role player but costs more....remember they have like an 8 million Trade exception from Jeremy Lin trade, so i think they could absorb either joel or bass, no problem especially since they both have 1 year left on deals

BOS roster:

PG: rondo/smart/pressy
SG:Bradley/Thorton/turner
SF:Green/Wallace/Young
PF:Sully/Ko/joelorbass
C:Zeller/Gobert/Fav

waive bogans, CJ,babb

Seems like a trade Ainge would make right now. He's going to trade for players nobody saw coming. I think HOU likes Montejunas, but Bass has playoff experience. It's very possible.

I think you'd be better served trying to trade for Kanter over Gobert.

I totally agree with this statement.  The legendary potential of Rudy Gobert is shooting to new heights in FIBA, and if the Jazz get swept up into thinking that Gobert is their center of the future, I want to get my hands on the undervalued commodities in his shadow.

side note... Motiejunas? He's decent, but if you are in the market for players that "flash," don't you want the one with the 7'amillion wingspan and promising rookie season?

small gamble on Gobert becoming a rim protector

That is a huge gamble since he only blocked one shot yesterday and his NBA body of work has been less than compelling.   If he is just a step away don't you think Utah would keep him?   Nah, I forget this is Celticsblog, where the impossible happens all the time, like Love coming to Boston or Ainge trading for Durant for Chris Johnson and Phil Pressey and a 2nd rounder.

Let's wait to see how fairs against Davis if they make it that far.

I will bet you that Davis destroys him if it is US France in the finals.
