Ainge is either in florida somewhere forgetting he has a roster to set or nobody is going to budge and trade for bass,bogans etc.

Ainge is either in florida somewhere forgetting he has a roster to set or nobody is going to budge and trade for bass,bogans etc.

not sure for bogans, but the 15 player roster has to be set by october 27. so the celtics have time and ainge can stay in florida a bit longer.

Yes but what about trainning camp? Like loosecannon said , sept 30 is prob the date they are eyeing to sign ET. Reallly surprised nobody wants at least bogans nonguarantee and surrender a 2nd or something.

Roster looks good to me going into pre-season as they have plenty of players that can be cut to get under the cap and roster limit. Also a bunch of decent guys on last year contracts that can be traded.

PG= Rondo/Smart/Pressey*
SG= AB/Thornton/Young/CJ*/Bogans*
SF= Green/Turner/Wallace/Babb*
PF= Sully/Bass
C= Zeller/Olynyk/Anthony/Fav*

Final roster without any trades?
PG=Rondo/Smart
SG=AB/Thorton/Young
SF=Green/Turner/Wallace
PF=Sully/Bass
C=Zeller/ Olynyk/ Anthony


*Pressey can be cut. AB and Thornton have some PG experience and either can serve as 3rd PG in a pinch.
*CJ and Babbs are ok bench guys but that is their limit also they are not full guaranteed so they get cut.
*Bogans is non-guarantee and his salary dump allows Turner signing.
*Fav could be cut. I believe his last year is non-guaranteed or his contract is voidable. Something along those lines.

Rondo, top 5 PG maybe, Surely 2nd to 4th best PG in the East.
AB, solid defender and by default 3rd to 5th best SG in the East.
Green, love him or hate him guy is likely 3rd to 5th best SF in the East.
Sully, guy averaged 13/8 not bad coming off back surgery and being out of shape. A lock for 16 and 10 this year.
Zeller/Oylynk, still up in the air on them but both guys would be good back up centers. Hope one or both can develop or over achieve playing with the other 4 starters.

Bench should be exciting with Smart, Thornton, Young, Turner, Bass (lights out in contract years), Olynyk/Zeller.


Roster is all set. Not a winner by any means but who really is other than the 3 headed Dragon in Cleveland.

Pressey wont be cut. He just signed a deal in the summer

Celtics need to try to unload thornton, wallace, bass.

We really dont need to bring in ET imo. James young could use the min to develop instead

I don't know what Fav's legal situation will be this year, but I don't see a need to cut him or Pressey right now, given that their contracts are guaranteed. Pressey is cheap insurance.

A team wouldn't give up a 2nd to trade nothing for Bogans.  The team that would want to acquire Bogans in order to waive him is a team that wants to send out guaranteed salary for non guaranteed salary and wants to compensate Boston with a second in order to do so.

Pressey did not sign a new deal his salary just became guaranteed but its like 900k so he can still be cut.
