Just playing "devil's advocate", what else are they supposed to say? I don't think this is the same situation exactly as Love. They might just not want to rock the boat while they're still in it even while they may be reading the tea leaves around here and seeing maybe Danny can't bring in someone in here to help compete. He whiffed on Love and on Rondo's personal favorite, Melo.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

They could say nothing.  The new salary cap has essentially eliminated the sign-n-trade max deal.  The only way to change teams and get max money is to be traded with time still on your deal and then sign a new deal with your new team.  So, it would be entirely in Rondo's interest to put maximum pressure on Ainge to trade him...if he's actually is committed to leaving.

I'm guessing this thread won't get much traction...

Some of us are ready to trade Rajon for a bag of Doritos.

You seem to be one of the few people who understand this. People keep telling me Rondo's going to wait until after the season ends to decide which team he'll go to no matter what. When I explain to them he'll lose money if he does that I seem to lose them.

It's in reference to this very tweet, I think.
