That sentence was horribly phrased and is actually intended to mean that Courtney Witte was the director of player personnel and all scouts on the team. Witte was the only guy fired. Otherwise, Sixers fans would be flipping bricks right now considering the quality of their scouting evaluation pretty much determines the fate of the team for the next decade.

Nice spot.  I read that as all of the scouts were fired as well.  Apparently he wasn't even fired, but he and the team came to an agreement that he could leave to sign with the Clippers.
