This is disappointing but I guess he has to do what he has to do

I think we should let Rondo get his dream of playing with Carmelo a chance.

I think that New York would really be interested in pleasing Carmelo, and I think they would do anything to get a chance at the playoffs, within the next few years.

If Rondo wants to leave we have to main goals:

1) clearing up cap-space for the future
2) do whatever we can to get a center, who we can build around

That is why I have come up with this idea:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lcte72l

If this should work I believe that we must include the Philly-pick and another pick to Indiana, but it would be worth it if we can get Hibbert as a build-around center.

My main concern in the deal is New York, would they do it?

It's just a funny idea, but it might workout pretty well for all 3 teams.

Another realistic option:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=nk5fwh4

Rondo + Wallace to the Knicks for Amare's expiring.   Maybe the Knicks will throw us a bone like Tim Hardaway Jr... maybe their 2015 1st rounder (which they still have).   Makes sense.

I'd want Schumpert  and Larkin thrown in there too along with Amare, Hardaway and the pick for Rondo/Wallace/Anthony.

I know that overloads us at the 2. But we would be in the acquiring assets stage then, right?

Instead of john henson it would be larry sanders...sanders has been on the rocks with them, they said their gonna start henson, and for salaries to match up.  Besides that I would like this trade and it seems legit for all sides.

This is disappointing but I guess he has to do what he has to do

Cavs winning lottery and their luck of James being from Ohio.....pretty much killed Boston, Miami , and several other teams plans.

Cavs an d James luck has to go dry at some point.

I have no desire to trade Rondo for multiple assets unless those assets are too good to be true. If we are trading him, we need to aim high and go for Cousins or Drummond. I realize we would need to include picks / young players / Green / whatever, but we need a difference maker moving forward and this is our best opportunity.

And, seriously, why are people so in love with a Houston deal centered around a guy who went in the mid-20s in this year's draft and another pf prospect with less potential than Sully?

I have no idea. Other than Harden or Howard, Houston has jack s*** to offer.

My prediction, Rondo is still with the team come opening night.

I put Houston as a last option sort of deal. For example, if Rondo is unhappy and says he'll walk at the deadline, why not get at least some picks for him?

I would give almost anything to get Drummond. The kid is going to rule the NBA in three to four years. Imagine him and Smart together!

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Probably our best option at this point...

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pr5aynf

Salary dump Rondo, Wallace and Jeff Green...

take back Rudy Gay's expiring contract, William's expiring contract and Terry's expiring contract.   Green can replace Gay in Sac's lineup.   Maybe the Kings do it despite Rondo supposedly saying he has no interest in re-signing there.

Why for Boston:  If you're going to lose Rondo for nothing anyways, you might as well dump Wallace's contract while you can.  Pure salary dump.  Buy out Rudy Gay if you want.
Why for the Kings:  They improve slightly

Cant we get Jason Thompson instead of either Jet or Derrick Williams over here?

I for one would love to have Rudy Gay in our team.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

Okay, so the picks are the 'prizes', not Capela and Jones. The only problem with getting picks from Houston is they will have a pretty killer line-up with Rondo, Harden, and Howard. I understand the 'something is better than nothing' philosophy, but I think I would be just as happy holding on to Rondo through the year and seeing what happens. I imagine we could at least get a pretty decent sign and trade.

Begin?

I was just meaning since the "report" on him wanting out.
Except you really mean since the "rumor" came out.

And the first rumor of Rondo wanting be on a title contender was a longgggg time ago.  Thus why people are joking with you for making a thread to start a discussion that hasn't had a break for as long as I can remember.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

What?!?!?!?

I know - I actually got physically nervous when reading that proposal (shortness of breath, heart beating faster, etc).
