According to Marc Stein, "roughly half the league" wants him even though he isn't likely to sign until mid-season while recovering from his herniated disk.

This is a public service announcement to bored posters so that they stop including Okafor in off-season transaction ideas.
"The worst thing that ever happened in sports was sports radio, and the internet is sports radio on steroids with lower IQs.” -- Brian Burke, former Toronto Maple Leafs senior adviser, at the 2013 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference

if he's healthy, pretty much any contender that can throw a good contract at him will try signing him.  very solid player when healthy--of course that's the key issue with him now.

That is disappointing to hear. Surprised Emeka is so far away from being ready to play after sitting out all last season. That explains why there has been so little coverage of him in free agency news this summer.

Anyway, after using part of the MLE to sign Evan Turner, I don't think the Celtics have any shot at signing Emeka. Not with that many teams are interested in him. Someone with better playoff hopes will offer him comparable if not superior money to play for them.

It's a pity. Emeka would have been a really nice short term solution at that center position. Allow the youngsters around him to grow in their proper roles. Oh well.

I'm with you, Edgar (nice to see you, bud), his quickness/agility was definitely slowing down, which means a big drop in his defense was probably right around the corner.  He also took a big hit in FG efficiency his last year.  All signs point downward, and 2 major injuries in 3 years is never good for aging Centers.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
