apologies if somebody already posted this. but how about this (obviously we would need some fillers around it to make salaries work):

PHX gets rondo (replaces bledsoe in their PG system and puts them "over the top")

DET gets bledsoe (allows them to go smaller and have a solid upgrade at PG)

BOS gets monroe (true center on our frontline. we'd prob lose one of sully/olynk in this trade)

makes sense for all parties. would love to hear thoughts on this.

Im not sure the suns want rondo but then again I have no clue what they really want but they have isiah thomas who is comparable, younger and cheaper than rondo.

Also im not a monroe fan really :(

So we lose Rondo and either Sully or KO and we get back Monroe?  C's would never do this.  We give away by far the best player in the trade AND we give a young developing player as well, this makes absolutely no sense.

I posted this trade on the Bledsoe thread but I thought that since Phoenix is getting the best player that they should also have to send a 1st round pick to the Celtics.

There's a few challenges here.

1. I don't know how well Rondo fits next to Dragic. Suns would probably prefer someone who plays better off the ball. Frankly Bledsoe is a great fit and they are silly for wanting to trade him, but maybe AB would interest them? They still probably do this deal because they are getting the best player.

2. If C's have to give up additional assets, there is no way they consider this. Monroe is good but is he really worth giving up Rondo AND Sully/KO? Much as I like Monroe, I'm not even sold on Rondo for Monroe straight up, unless Rondo indicates he might leave in FA.

how about this one:

Suns receive Monroe; send out Alex Len, TJ Warren, possibly filler
Detroit sends Monroe and a 1st rounder, receives Rondo;
We send Rondo, recieve Len, Teej, Detroit 1st, possibly filler.

Suns keep disgruntled Bledsoe, who is a great fit with Dragic anyway. They make the playoffs with Monroe and maybe he'll get over himself. They are in win-now mode, so they are willing to part with valuable assets for a guy like Monroe.

Detroit gets to balance their roster and abandon the disastrous Josh-Smith-as-a-jump-shooting-SF experiment. They're confident of re-signing Rondo because he's buddies with said knucklehead.

Boston gets great value for Rondo. Teej's value went wayyy up due to his sick SL performance, he looks like a dark horse for ROY with his uniquely good touch from short range and awesome scoring instincts. Len was injury plagued last year, but he still has franchise-center potential.

I'd prefer to keep rondo, he will max Monroe's potential.
How about
Suns send Bledsoe
Receive smith, expiring filler and a pick.
Detroit sends smith, Monroe
Receives sully, green, filler
Boston sends sully green, loto protected pick
Recieves Monroe.
?

Unless someone is willing to give up 3 strong assets, Rondo isn't going anywhere. You'll have to get much more than Monroe if Rondo is leaving town.
