Zeller would be an all star on the Spurs and Splitter would wind up a scrub with our luck ;D

Cant let this happen

I wonder if the better comparison for Zeller is Spencer Hawes without three-point shooting.

I don't think Hawes complete non-effort defensively is applicable to Zeller, though the end result might very well be similar.

Highlights is highlights and they always can make a player look good.

Nevertheless, my favorite bit from the Zeller vid is near the beginning, when he simply pushes Drummond through the post in order to gain the advantage for the rebound.   That was probably a foul, but it is indicative that Zeller is stronger than he looks.

He played a lot better later in the year last season, probably a combination of getting further removed from the emergency appendectomy in October and simply getting more significant minutes.

I think that if he has a good summer program and can pack the muscle mass back on that he lost plus maybe a wee bit more, he could be at minimum a significant improvement at the C position over what we had last year.   And I think he still has decent upside.   Big men tend to take several years to mature in this league.

He's not likely to be the next Wilt Chamberlain.   But I think Zeller will prove to be a very decent, solid starting center in this league.

When actually given time on the floor late last year, Zeller was pretty [dang] good.  I want to see more.  I think its a helluva pickup by Danny.
i agree that danny did a great job of giving up nothing to get a decent player. i am not sure how he will turn out eventually, but with stevens as coach i think he can become an decent starting center, or, a good backup on a championship level team.
agree that he was a good pickup by Danny especially considering he didn't really give up anything except a TPE that was about to expire.  I don't think he'll necessarily develop enough to be a solid starting-quality center (really thinking next year's draft will get us that player) but I think he could become one of the top backup centers in the league in a few years.   his improvement since coming to the league is fairly significant.

I still can't distinguish any of the Zeller siblings.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

The other zeller is a better athlete  and has better standing reach.

When you get down to it, they are both similar in terms of quickness/athleticism/Reach.  But Tyler is a legit 7 footer and has a 7 foot wingspan which are nice measurements to have if want to be a center in the nba. Tyler could also play the PF spot and would have a size adv over many players in this league. His jump shot is near automatic vs Cody Zeller that is afraid to shoot like Rondo and has a very ugly/mechanical looking jump shot.

It's not like Cody is a better ball handler, passer, rebounder, shot blocker (Tyler has the edge with these two things also).  Cody Zeller imo is going to turn out to be a bust or a long life bench player

Two things i'm afraid of with Tyler is, if he has one of those bodies that can't gain anymore weight and/or if he does he loses his quickess/decent athleticism adv.    He is around 245 and hopefully with Mr. Doo help can get to 260 without losing the advs he has
